Syrian Security Units Clash with "Foreign Special Forces"
- 27/04/2004 21:00:00 GMT
A undercover special forces operation being run by "foreign governments" became embroiled in a bloody battle in Damascus, Syria early this evening sources close to the Syrian Foreign Ministry told Aljazeera.com.

Explosions and gunfire were heard in the diplomatic neighborhood as Syrian police and army units fought the "Foreign Special Forces" during which a number of cars were destroyed.

It is widely known coalition special forces based out of Iraq are in operation inside the Syrian side of the Iraqi border to stem the flow of foreign fighters. This incident is the first which has targeted the capital Damascus.

1. Who are these "Foreign Special Forces" I wonder....
...Hey, as far as Syria is concerned, the U.S.A. is foreign. Also, Oliver North has been on special assignment by Fox News to cover the Iraq War. Do you suppose it might be possible that Oily North is conducting covert ops again like he did under Iran/Contra? Uhmmm. Son-of-a-gun, so hard to know these things when a secret government runs things.:freak:

17. The article said forces operating in Iraq
Is Israel operating in Iraq? I would bet most anything it is US Special Forces. And I believe it is against international law to foment unrest inside another country. I would guess these guys are wearing civilian clothing without dog tags and the US will deny they are part of the US operation. It is the way it works. I have first hand knowledge to that fact.

20. Well maybe it's Dyn Corp, Vinnell, SAIC, MPRI etc. under contract
to someone.

Sheesh, Dyn Corp guards US officials in Israel, Dyn Corp guards the President of Afghanistan, Karzai, Dyn Corp has the contract to train Iraqi police and corrections, similar to the one that Dyn Corp has in Bosnia-where some Dyn Corp employees hooked up with ethnic gangsters to run dope, guns and children as sex slaves and only the whistleblowers were punished, Dyn Corp even had the clout to get Mary Robinson removed from her position at UNHRC when she pursued Dyn Corp criminals.

I mean George W. Bush aka The War President employs a lot of mercenaries with our tax money, they are big political campaign contributors that make a killing off war and spookery.

5. I smelled.........
CIA all over the bombing a few days ago. What better way to get Syria's attention than to bomb an old U.N. building? In my opinion, there was little or no strategic value to this target for terrorists, but a warning shot across the bow by "Foreign Special Forces" makes perfect sense.

11. Yesterday, someone mentioned CIA and MOSSAD,...
,...and got reamed (which I found odd considering the environment in our executive). Do any of us doubt that the extremists in the WH are perfectly able and willing to be provocateers? Not I.

The PNACers WANT a reason for war to spread in the ME. They already have the draft ready to go and they have America by the balls. They also are determined to win this year's election and figure war is good politics.

16. I was questioning
the immediacy of the assumption, not the merit of the assumption. I would just like to know more facts; but I will say that there are so few details on this, that it *does* make me suspicious.

9. The plot thickens

snip ...
"The target appeared to be a former United Nations office whose facade was blackened and scarred Wednesday, but witnesses said the gunmen appeared to have fired at random.

"The gunmen just got out of a car and began shooting randomly," said Bassam Adel, a civil servant who lives near the former UN offices. "It was very scary."

14. Damascus goes on security alert after four killed in bombing, shootout
here's this

DAMASCUS : The Syrian capital went on high security alert after a series of explosions and a shootout in the diplomatic quarter where two "terrorists", a policeman and a woman passer-by were killed.

The state news agency SANA said authorities later uncovered a cache of arms and explosives that belonged to the unknown group which carried out the attacks late Tuesday.

The cache was found in Khan al-Shih, a village 25 kilometres (15 miles) south of Damascus, it said Wednesday.

The US State Department said it was keeping the American embassy closed on Wednesday as a precaution and advised non-essential personnel to remain at home after the violence.

Syrian police, meanwhile, blocked off access routes to the embassy.

15. Total war. Perpetual war. War is good.
"You are either with us or against us!" The world had better wake up and unite angainst the American Evil before it is too late. With so many WMDs, the United States will be hard to fight, but the world must unite and fight angainst the USA! I know that America would simply nuke any country that got in its way, but the fate of the world is in the balance. "America the Evil" - my heart breaks - I never thought that it could get this bad. This country isn't this country anymore.
