BBC (Breaking Monday): UN probe backs Iran nuclear claim
From the BBC Online
Dated Monday November 15 13:27 GMT (5:27 am PST)

UN probe backs Iran nuclear claim

Iran has not diverted nuclear materials it declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for "prohibited activities", the UN watchdog concludes.
But the IAEA said it was "not yet in the position to conclude that there are no undeclared nuclear materials".

Iran has agreed to suspend its uranium enrichment activities by 22 November, following talks with the European Union, officials in Tehran say.

Iran is facing a 25 November deadline to comply with an IAEA resolution.

Link will update at the BBC adds details.

Let's hope the Bushies, with help from US corporate "journalists", don't roll over this story like they did the Iraq weapons inspections. They'd dearly love to start another colonial war on false pretenses and blame the intelligence community when it turns out that there was no threat in the first place. Even if Iran is a threat, with what are they going to invade? There are 140,000 US troops with their hands full on occupation duty in Iraq and they can't be two places at once; moreover, the problems of occupying Iran will be much greater than those of occupying Iraq.

For decades, the BBC has been a traditional source for those seeking to be in the know while living in places deprived of a free and independent press. That is why this American living in the age of Bush and corporatism turns to the BBC Online for news and information.

2. Let me see if I can get the language right...
"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence"...yeah thats it. This only proves they are lying just like Saddam when he and the UN inspectors said there were no weapons of mass destruction. Attack is eminent...we can't allow more lies by those damn a-rabs and the spineless UN to stop our agenda.

5. This is the kind of bullsh*t statements that these UN agencies
make in regards to issues of these kinds that allow the US enough wiggle room to drive the propaganda of WAR when it needs to. These spineless UN agencies need to declare categorically what they found as the MOMENT and leave it at that. They hegded and fudged with Iraq only to make it possible for the US and UK to go to war and later find no WMD. Dr. Blix and Dr. ElBaradei are as much to blame for the Iraqi war as is the chimp* and the poodle.

4. denman you're comment is right on the mark!
The message from Iraq is "open your country to UN inspectors and get invaded."

I suppose we'll now the excuse to to invade/attck/ regime change in Iran will be to keep them from supporting the resistance in Iraq.
