Schwarzenegger Camp Says Actor Bumped as Mexican Parade Leader
Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign said the actor was given an invitation that was later rescinded to be grand marshal of a Mexican Independence Day parade scheduled for Sunday in Los Angeles.

A spokesman blamed pressure by Democrats who didn't want the actor to have a prominent role in the popular annual event. Schwarzenegger is the leading Republican in the Oct. 7 recall election to replace Gray Davis.

"Clearly, there are many Democrats who are fearful of the fact that one of California's most prominent immigrants, who is campaigning on hope and optimism, is undermining their political agenda and will stop at virtually nothing to maintain their political position," Schwarzenegger spokesman Sean Walsh said.

California Democratic Party spokesman Bob Mulholland said he wasn't aware of the situation and that he knew of no such pressure.

(snip)

Walsh said Schwarzenegger still planned to participate in the parade, just not as grand marshal. Organizers said the grand marshal would be Maria Elena Salinas, a co-anchor on Univision's evening newscast.

So what if I am an immigrant who loves to screw other immigrants? Them Mexicand aren't smart enough to know that, only a Dem could have done it!

2. They should have let him lead the parade
After the first block no one would have been able to recognize him anyway with the eggs and tomatoes all over him.

7. Campaigning on "hope & optimism"? No, on arrogance & greed!
Whatever happened to campaigning on ability, experience and intelligence and a specific platform?
