Nuclear Survivors Speak Out
Survivors of nuclear radiation from around the world wrapped up a conference in Hawai'i on Saturday. The meeting marked the 51st anniversary of a devastating bomb blast at Bikini Atoll. Those who are still dealing with the aftermath shared their stories.

Maza Attari was seven years old when the U.S. military tested a hydrogen bomb at Bikini Atoll. Code-named Bravo, it was a thousand times more powerful the blast at Hiroshima. A raging fireball filled the sky, followed by a 20-mile high mushroom cloud filled with radioactive ash.

"After that, so many people sick, vomiting, fever and other kind of sick," said Attari.

The Marshallese native suffers from thyroid and other health problems. Attari is just one of several nuclear survivors at this conference. Charles Clark was one of the first Americans to enter Nagasaki, Japan after the 1945 bombing. <snip>
