20. We all have to be thinking about how ,
as a matter of public policy, we are going to care for these kids when they come home. Besides the physical trauma, their mental health needs are going to be astounding. As always, the godless liberals will have to solve these problems. We had better start thinking about how.

8. Hard to look at
...but I think every American who voted for the chimp, and by extension, for this idiotic misadventure, should be required to carefully examine this powerful photo essay before being allowed into a voting booth ever again.

13. Brings back memories of my own
Its times when I see photos like this or others that I feel the pull to go back to the military at least try to be a medic so can help out buddies in my own way. I know I'm not cut out for combat anymore, have seen to much from my time in before. But its hard to go day by day knowing these guys are over there and I'm here.

Really hard to let go...

14. As disturbing as they are...
Photos like this are what turned the population against the Vietnam war 40 years ago.

I hope more photos come out. People need to see the true cost of war.

27. Yes, people need to see it
and what do we see in the MSM, usually? No wounded, no coffins, no funerals. I'm surprised NYT had this picture, but I'm glad they did.

Sheeple need to see that war is more than slapping a yellow ribbon or two on your car(s).

16. photo captions
From a photo caption:

''These young kids are heroes,'' says Col. Joseph Brennan, a head and neck surgeon. ''Somebody's got to pay the price. And these kids are paying the price.''

These young kids are victims, Col. Brennan. Victims. Victims of a capitalistic society gone mad.

And what is this about paying the price? "Somebody's got to pay the price" for what? Why do they, young men and women, have to pay a price?

Cher

25. You beat me to it - I copied that same quote to comment on.
"Pay the price" for WHAT, Col Brennan??? Pay with their lives, bodies, or mental health so that Halliburton and the fucking oil companies can make billions of dollars??

You're so right, NJCher, they are victims.

Heroes, my ass, Col. Brennan -- you are so totally full of shit.

19. wow
so painful to look at. this is all so needless. none of this needed to happen. this nation ... i just don't have words to say ... we all need to be deeply repentent of what this nation has done...pray to whatever god or spirit you may believe in that someday we may be forgiven for what we have done.

21. Wounded soldiers
These pictures should be in the regular section of the newspaper. And more importantly they should be in the newspapers ordinary people read.I would publish them in the Sports section of the newspapers because majority of the American people read the Sports section first and for a good chunk of the population that is the only section that they ever read.
