2. That would have been an excellent question to ask Prescott Bush

It's all about profit. That's what Europe's arms manufacturers want, and the EU governments like exports - of any kind. The US doesn't like Israel doing it too, but it still happens. When big European companies get a chance to make profit that US companies don't, they like it even less.
