Fleischer's Book Bomb
Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer "received a reported $500,000 advance for his memoir, Taking Heat, which was launched... with an eye-popping press run of 200,000," the New York Daily News reports.

"Alas, Fleischer's publisher has just placed a tiny little ad in Publishers Weekly Online announcing 'a special price promotion for retailers and wholesalers' -- often a buzz phrase in the publishing biz for throwing in the towel, admitting a big overestimation of demand and trying desperately to avoid an avalanche of returns by slashing the price."

3. It did get pretty poor reviews.
If it's as elucidating as his press conferences were, it would be long at 5 pages....

They might own the books but trust me they are still on page three... for the last eight months. But don't worry cousin Peggy told them all about it.

16. This book is #2 on my to-read list..
..right behind Karen Hughes' masterpiece.

Of course, the reading list I'm talking about (I term it the "propaganda playlist") is #265th on my list of to-read lists, so James D. Guckert's kid will be White House press secretary before I'm inclined to read this garbage.
