Feingold: Edwards is running on my record
MyDD's Jonathan Singer caught this harsh passage in an interview with Russ Feingold:

The one that is the most problematic is Edwards, who voted for the Patriot Act, campaigns against it. Voted for No Child Left Behind, campaigns against it. Voted for the China trade deal, campaigns against it. Voted for the Iraq war … He uses my voting record exactly as his platform, even though he had the opposite voting record.

When you had the opportunity to vote a certain way in the Senate and you didn't, and obviously there are times when you make a mistake, the notion that you sort of vote one way when you're playing the game in Washington and another way when you're running for president, there's some of that going on.

Edwards.

MKJ

BTW, Feingold did NOT say "Edwards is running on my record", but when is accuracy ever a concern for Smith or politico?

2. I love Russ, but he sounds a little petty here
But I will say that Edwards did NOT seem to make a lotta friends while he was in the senate. damn.

8. Well, why didn't he have the cojones to run - on his "own record?" I think
less of him for this. Why doesn't he critique Hillary's record while he's at it

4. If Russ doesn't think much of Edwards, then I couldn't support him in the primary--
although I will support him if he's the nominee. Feingold is a highly-principled guy, and I take his opinion seriously. If he chooses Hillary over Obama, then that would cause me some psychic discomfort, I must admit.

5. The tone of Edwards' rhetoric makes it sound like he did not vote the way he has.

6. Does Feingold mean
that Clinton or Obama is preferable?
