1. You assume 2 to 1 wounded yet it is 6 to 1 in us/uk mil. reports |
|
Military having armor, helmets etc. for protection which
civilians lack.
So I'm thinking your estimates are low.

5. NPRs Day to Day on monday reported 4000 US wounded. |
|
I think it was Mike Kinsley from Slate magazine that used this figure.

"Would Saddam have done this much damage?" I really do not think he could have especially when one takes long term illness into account.. Like exposure to radiation and illness brought on by tainted water and air to name a few. The long term effects of this invasion and occupation coupled with the statistics you have provided are truly staggering.

THe media is downplaying this horribly.
There was a chart in the Washington Post today that show "hostile" combat deaths only since May 1.
It spoke of 50 US personnel killed in action.
They are minimizing the pain and suffering caused by this fraud of a war.
NEVER have I seen figures publicized like those above.
WHY?
What is the media trying to HIDE?

6. Notice how the Bush team spin this as |
|
the liberating Americans vs the evil Baathist supporters? that has become the big rallying issue-- If WMDs are mentioned at all it is "evidence of WMD programs" and the media is pointed with the latest finger of blame for pumping up the case for war.
This morning's BBC report featured a couple of everyday Iraqi men, one was a carpenter, who claimed they would resist violently the US occupation out of solidarity with their fellow Muslums and countrymen. A story you aren't likely to see in most US coverage.

7. All of those "From the Wilderness" people who went to Iraq |
|
should have to go visit the same hospitals they visited (no better, or looted or destroyed, much bigger patient loads)the same schools(kids afraid to go out to go to school), the same neighborhoods(women afraid of being attacked, raids by U. S. troops, people disappearing,)the same markets and restaurants they frequented(people unable to buy much because the U. S. cut off the payment for jobs)...they would find the situation to be MUCH WORSE....
OOH, but they couldn't do that. It might affect their choice for President!!

8. Don't you guys remember the claim running around the web |
|
before the invasion that stated that in the previous Iraqi conflict that casualty rates were 1500 to 1. :) That would mean 6 million Iraqi casualties and at least a million of them would probably dead.
Of course the 1500 to 1 claim was a bunch of bullshit, but I just wanted to remind you of it.

11. I've wondered why no one gives a shit about how many Iraqi SOLDIERS |
|
Were killed!! Yes, it's horrible for civilians to be killed, but just because these guys fought to defend their country, it shouldn't make them automatically DISPOSABLE!! They were essentionally murdered for defending their families and their home!! In many Iraqi towns all the males from TEN YEARS-OLD up were shoved into the army!!!

I picked up a lot of slack when I sited IBC on another forum it got chewed out as JUST an anti-war site. But let us all look forward to the next public media display of more SH's dead and mutilated henchmen, servicemen, or his butch, his baker, and his candlestick maker. That's the stuff that sells the war by god.
Pooh what's 6,000 plus dead innocent iraqi's?
