Mr Bush, I STILL need a job
Some of you may remember my open letter to Mr Bush a few months ago
(view it here: http://www.onwithyourhead.com/mrbush.htm )
I never got a response, so here goes again:

I wrote you a few months ago to let you know my employment situation. Well, hundreds of applications and a tax-cut later and the economy is still doing its best impression of a Hoover Vacuum and I still can’t find a good job. So, I ask you again, Mr. Bush, can you help me find a job?

I know you swore to have "no child left behind", but your budget cuts to the states have made the states find alternate sources for revenue to educate our kids. I have 3 kids that are being left behind, because we don't make enough money to get any of your child tax credit. They are getting left behind because the aging schools they go to can't even provide them textbooks, much less computers that work. I wonder how you would have done in school had you been forced to go to a public school in today's economy. I bet you'd have been 'left behind' at least a couple of grades.

I know you swore that Iraq was an immediate threat to all of us and that we needed to forego such luxuries as education, infrastructure, and clean air in order to pay for your war to prevent this imminent threat. Except now, as it turns out, there was no imminent threat. Hell, Iraq couldn’t even fight back, at least not until after you declared “Mission Accomplished” while pretending to be a pilot. You’ve managed to get quite a few of our boys (and girls) killed with your lies. Is this what you meant by “no child left behind”? If so, please LEAVE US BEHIND NEXT TIME!

I know you swore that you were bringing “honor and integrity” back to the White House and that the “adults are in charge now”, but it seems that you’ve just become the schoolyard bully that only a few dare stand up to. The machine behind you is impressive and frightening, but more so are the results of your twisted ideology. Your lies have real consequences, Mr. Bush. Real people are dying because of them. Is this the “honor and integrity” you spoke of? If so, bring back the womanizing Clinton. His lies didn’t get anyone killed.

I know you swore that your tax cuts for the rich were going to stimulate the economy and the wealth would trickle down to us peons eventually. Well, the trickle is too slow. My bills won’t wait until then. My kids have school supplies. All I need is a job. I hear you are raising a record setting amount of money from your special interest corporate buddies, do you or they need a web site? I promise not to mention WMDs, Osama Bin Forgotten, or the irresponsible way you have destroyed our economy.

Signed, the same underpaid, overburdened parent that couldn't get your attention before.

3. wow, so hostile to satire
or do you just not get it?

you don't really believe i would work for Bush do you?

This is a satirical statement on the economy and Bush's mismanagement of it. Sorry if it went over your head.

7. There sure is plenty of them out there--job seekers, not jobs
and none of them can find a job either.

There are 450 people applying for one open position. Wouldn't you get frustrated and angry if after busting your butt looking for work for a year, you can't get a job? Despite having a fantastic resume, excellent references, lots of experience, and giving good answers to the questions the interviewers ask, you still can't get a job, wouldn't you want to make damn sure that someone who might be able to do something about it does do something about it?

6. Doctors should always be able to find a job!
Ok, I don't know if you are really a doctor.

:nopity:

I do know that in previous posts you indicated that you smoke pot, and that might not be a very bright idea while you are job hunting.
You should at least give up the doobies until you land a job, and pass a drug test.

As for the school thing, the City of Atlanta has some of the worst
public schools anyone in the U.S. can imagine. If I was a parent, I would move into another school district where they actually spend tax money wisely.

For the school supplies: Right now it's TAX FREE time for school supplies so you should load up now!

I have a job in Atlanta, actually Dunwoody, but my employer will be shutting its doors forever soon, but I am very confident I will find work, and I hope you get a job you are suited for very soon.

8. no, im not a real doctor
Edited on Thu Jul-31-03 05:16 PM by drdigi420
just a nickname.

My pot smoking does not keep me from work, those tests are easy to beat.

I'm not sure why you guys are taking this so literally, it's a satirical rant on the shape of the economy and the Bush administration's role in putting it in that shape.

Sorry to hear about your upcoming job loss tho.

You're wrong about Atlanta schools tho. Inman Middle and Morningside Elementary are tops in the state. It's one of the main reasons we like Midtown.

Good luck.
