What does this say about ABC news?
I receive ABC's "Breaking News" emails. Below are the subjects of the emails I received on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday 7:05AM - White House will allow National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice testify under oath in front of the 9/11 commission.

Tuesday 2:00PM - President says Condoleezza Rice's testimony will give "complete picture" of events leading up to 9/11.

Wednesday 11:43AM - Reports: Missing University of Wisconsin student Audrey Seiler found.

Wednesday 2:04PM - Martha Stewart's lawyers seek new trial, citing issues with juror.

Here is the strange thing, during these times four civilian Americans were attacked and killed in Iraq. Their bodies were dragged around the streets and later hung from a bridge. Yet ABC news does not think this is breaking news. However, they do think that Martha Stewart wanting a new trial is important enough for breaking news.

It is also interesting that not once did they send out a "Breaking News" email concerning the deaths of American troops in Iraq during the month of March (which was the second most deadly month since Bush said the war was over), but they did sent out an email on March 19th saying, "President Bush gives speech marking Iraq war anniversary."

Add this to the fact that never sent out any email about Richard Clarke's testimony but they did send one out saying that Rice will give a "complete picture" and one can't help but wonder.

I'm guessing we all feel very similar about national news organizations, so this will not come as a shock to any of you. However, I wanted to put it out there for us to use whenever someone says 'Liberal Media' or 'how anti-Bush the media is.'

Thanks

1. write them and complain
Express your concerns calmly and eloquently. Part of the reason for their slanted coverage is Karl Rove has assembled a freeper letter-writing machine that complains to news sources every time they stray from the Repug script. Make your voice heard.

4. I did just that.
Thanks for the suggestion.

The hardest part was finding the right email address to send my comment to.

Time for the O'Franken Factor.

3. Good observation of the "big picture."
Yesterday's news was horrific! Mainly what I heard on MSNBC was, "Well, those are just the Sunni Iraqis who are pissed off about losing the advantages they had with Saddam." Oh, OK then. I'm sure that will comfort the families of the vicims. What a mess!!!
