White House Will EDIT The 9/11 Commission Report?
and control when it is released?

Does anyone know if this is true?

If it is, it would seem that the prudent thing for the Left is to begin publizing this fact NOW.

In the case that the Bush Administration gets to edit the Report than it should be called the Bush Final Cut or the Bush Report and NOT the 9/11 Commission Report.

3. Damn, It's Bad Enough Bush Tried To Kill It
Then he tried to appoint Kissinger, then he tried to underfund it, then he tried to keep from extending it, then he tried to withhold Clinton's papers... and keep Condi from testifying... and won't testify without Cheney...

DAMN!

12. And people are STILL getting exercised
About whether L/MIHOP are just "silly conspiracy theories."
A CLEARER PATTERN OF OBFUSCATION IS UNIMAGINABLE!!!!

Look at what happened when the WH redacted the U.N. Report on SH.
WHERE ARE THE FUCKING WMDs???? No, not under the desk....

19. Right, but
Everyone's aware that he's doing those things. If this report comes out like the last one -- with major sections whited out -- it's going to look mighty bad for Chimpy-boy.

4. Too many suspicious minds are looking at the white house
with skepticism, they will never get away with changing the tone of the report.

8. I agree--they spew out the lies & leave it up to everybody else
Edited on Sun Apr-04-04 10:36 AM by librechik
to prove them wrong--an utter impossibility when they are the gatekeepeers of the evidence.

We are screwed. I hope this becomes a big ugly scandal for those a*holes, but I don't have much hope....

7. Who will know if they change the "tone"? It won't be released until
they change it.

6. Let's Start With The Redacted Saudi Material...
That's just the starters. Remember, this is a pResidential, not a Congressional commission (why doesn't the media make this constantly known???)...it's his report and he can put it out any way he wishes. And if you think this regime won't use this report as a campaign manifesto, you better wake up.

10. Media complicity
So long as the media allow this to be called a "Congressional commission," they are accomplices in whatever whitewash occurs. Media must check their own impulses (you heard various outlets compare Rice's absence with that of others from "Congressional commission inquiries," etc.) and must answer assertions, intended or accidental, of Congress's imprimatur with a firm "But this isn't a Congressional committee, is it? It was commissioned by the White House."

11. Well, that's the law !
Who writes the laws? Maybe a new Congress would release in entirety? Who thinks they will release before election? It's a sham!

16. Hamilton said that Congress had the authority if they wished...
to change the present set up. After all, Congress can write or change any law. They are the body that writes the laws. That is th branch that our Founding Fathers thought the power of the people should be entrusted with...

15. Yes, under the
Paperwork Reduction Act.

You don't need to know all that stuff anyway. It will only set your hair on fire and who needs a bad hair day?

See....... You feel better already.
