In general, Iraqis know a lot more about us than we do about them.
For one thing, many of them were educated here. It's a sure bet that they have some grasp of our political environment. Since they have limited military resources, they have to plan their revolutionary activity for maximal political impact on us. Wouldn't it be logical for them to try to time their activity level with November 2 in mind? If I were an Iraqi insurrectionist, I'd see the next US election as a one-time chance to help implant rationality in the American government and head off the American Empire.

1. I hope they are really smart
and don't do anything that would bolster Shrub's rather tattered rep as being 'tough' on terror. My biggest concern is that some sort of 'terror' incident will happen that will allow Shrub to declare martial law and cancel the elections.

2. "Iraqis know a lot more about us than we do about them" - hmmm
.
.
.

Couldn't you say that about MOST countries?

I am almost certain that Canadians and Mexicans know more about the USA as a general population.

As for the rest of the world, the USA has a presence almost everywhere, and people usually "check out" those that have their noses in their affairs.

AND

Don't forget the general Administration's propaganda machine. Their largest "targets" for their propaganda are the American Taxpayers - - sorta figures, - -

It's the American Taxpayers that pay for all the USA's shenanigans, like it or not - no?

. . . .

Of course. Americans are dismally ignorant, while other peoples have had to become expert in figuring us out. Kinda like how the slaves used to know everything about what was going on in Massa's circles, but Massa paid little attention to what was going on in the slave quarters, as long as it didn't look like open insurrection or something. The blacks just played dumb and built sophisticated survival systems that were never suspected by the people on top.

4. John Burns said they know about PNAC, Halliburton, the 9/11
Commission. And since Saddam spent YEARS telling them that the Americans would come for the oil, we have played right into his and Bin Laden's hands.
