Who could EVER have predicted that |
|
-Robert Byrd, former KKK member and pork barrel politician extraordiniare, would ever become the shining beacon of freedom and sanity in the US?
-a fundie president, to whom Jesus is his "favorite philosopher," would blow up places of worship, to kill the people inside (for whatever reason)?
-news media would not give credit to the millions of us who correctly predicted the war on Iraq would be a disaster?
-fundie voters would support the most immoral administration in US history, and one of the most immoral in world history?
-nothing would be said about overthrowing governments in Venezuala, Haiti, and elsewhere?
Seriously, if all this was predicted by anyone during the 2000 elections, I would have laughed at the folks saying so.

1. I predicted all but the first |
|
Burning places of worship with people inside is not a new practice for religious fanatics. The original Crusaders did it to mosques and synagogues.
Overthrowing third-world governments without getting a mention in the press reminds me of the last Bush administration, and Reagan before him. Remember Grenada?

2. If Robert Byrd is a shining beacon |
|
then he's lighted by all the coal money he's taken to pass laws which let energy corporations (who give most of their political contributions to Repukes) pollute the earth and poison his consituents.
