WWW.IRAQWAR.RU Dropping Their English Translation?
http://www.iraqwar.ru

This site had some of the best updates last year on the progress of the Iraq war. Reportedly using Russian intelligence, they provided a counterweight to the Pollyanna reporting of the American media. They were more pessimistic about the invasion and reported casualties, mechanical problems, and resistance that were left out of US reports.

I have kept visitng the site since they have a selection of daily international articles on Iraq and other issues in English translation. Now when you click on the "English" link, you get this graphic:

http://www.iraqwar.ru/setlang.php?userlang=en&lang=ru

Ñàéò âðåìåííî çàêðûò
â ñâÿçè ñ ïðîâåäåíèåì òåõíè÷åñêèõ ðàáîò.

Does this indicate a temporary link problem or does it look like they are taking the English translation down?

2. No, it says...
"The site is temporarily closed for maintenance.", basically.

3. I just read them in English earlier this morning
Their trend has been more languages, not less. For example, it looks like they've added a lot of Spanish language articles since last year.

Yesterday evening, they were way too busy to get into. I bet they are under heavy load again.

4. Oh, Good -- Glad to Hear It
I knew there were some Russian speakers here. I was looking forward to getting a wider selection of articles on Fallujah and the new Iraqi offensive.
