What is going on with Air America in Chicago (AM 950)!?
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 09:36 PM by JimT
Okay, I'm listening to Garofalo and Seder tonight. So far, the second hour of the show has just been a replay of the first hour. No explanation given. Was it that way for everyone across the country?

Also I have noticed the past week there has been instances everyday where there is a dropout and there is nothing but silence for about 10 seconds. It has happened listening to my radioes at home and in my car and only with this station. Its not any kind of static interference, there is a click and then dead silence for 10 seconds or so. Any radio experts out there?

3. I noticed that driving through Chicago sunday night...
...and it was a fairly weak signal at night, especially to the North. It was listenable at the state line but didn't get really clear until the Edens spur.

4. 1 hour delay
The second day they put it on delay like Stern. I suppose so times match. I noticed the other day they started playing live feed and then repeated 1 hour later on delay. Also a weak station. The frigging RW gets WLS with the big wattage. I hope they pick up more stations to get better area coverage. Power lines and engine noise interfere too much.

I finally caught AA in LA the day before yesterday and the signal was really poor. Almost like i had to be under the tower to hear it well.

MORE WATTAGE, PLEASE!

9. Try 1050 AM.. It comes in very well.. 1580 sucks
all I get is Bzzzzzzzzz...and overlapping stations..

The only thing I hate about 1050, is that they don't carry the whole lineup.. I was all set to listen to the repeat of Franken's interviews the tother day, and all of a sudden some local yokel was blabbing about Loma Linda City council :grr:

6. Live 25 miles from downtown Chi
and today was THE worst. At 10 this AM, the 950 station was overwhelmed by a religious station on same band. Static so bad all day I quit listening.

7. Someone said they are going to drop the delay next week.
Someone played the first hour of Majority Report twice tonight. As for the static, it's not bad in the morning.
