Howard dismisses Iraq-Vietnam link

April 8, 2004

ANY comparison between the Iraq conflict and Vietnam is politically motivated and historically wrong, Prime Minister John Howard said today.

Senior Liberal Party figures, including former prime minister Malcolm Fraser and former party president John Valder, have likened the Iraq conflict to the Vietnam war.

Labor leader Mark Latham has also made the comparison but Mr Howard today dismissed the suggestions.

1. well there is atleast ONE valid comparison
Little Johnny supported THAT war as well!

One of the funniest quotes I've heard from our "conga line of suckholes" - the Australian government as described by ALP leader Latham - was from our private school boy wanker of a Foreign Minister who, responding to quotes from Ted Kennedy that this is another Vietnam said "well it was HIS brother that sent the US into Vietnam" God only knows why he thought that relevant.
