Okay, they "pacify" Iraq, then what???? |
|
It sounds like the US is in a no win, tiger by the tail situation. If they succeed in putting down the "insurrection" they'll have to keep their boots on the necks of the Iraqi people to prevent the inevitable second uprising. Also, there's going to have to be a dramatic increase in the number of American troops, and we know what that means. I think we fucked up big time, well, not us, but the bushbaby* and all his buddies. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't, georgie* and his adults have given us one hell of a mess.
The thing to do in my opinion is to go hat in hand, on bended knee and plead with the UN and the world to please, please, save us from this mess. Pride goeth before a fall, and I don't see chimpy* swallowing his pride to go back to that irrelevent body. I don't see anything good coming.

After they fight us, they'll fight each other; as we intervene, they'll fight us. I agree we need the UN, and should take up their offer = give up the political control (= give up the oil). What we really need is new leadership. January 2005 cannot come too soon.

3. Bush screwed up when..... |
|
When he declared War on the Iraqi people. Declaring War on SH was one thing. In that War he had support of a slim American majority, and almost all of the Iraqi people.
But then, he went too far. He declared War on the very same people he claimed he was bringing democracy and freedom too. That was as stupid as one can get. Why am I not surprised he did that?

Saddam maintained control of the Iraqi population by killing people to instill fear and obedience in the others. He was a bad guy. We are going to assert control by killing a lot of Iraqis to instill fear and obedience in the others. But we are the good guys. If they bury the people we are killing in "mass graves" then there is NO significant difference between Saddam and Bush, other than Saddam being Iraqi and attaining his position through his own efforts.
