I don't know why they insist on using this line of argument. It is being increasingly ridiculed, in the first place, and, second, it is starting to give off a "protest-too-much" odor, as if there was some more specific warning that they didn't act on.

I am not a LIHOPer. I am more of a LIH cuzza crazy incompetence. I remain in that camp. But the incompetence at some point becomes negligence. This line os "They didn't provide a specific time and place" doesn't explain why the action following the PDB was so limited. If anything, it begs the question: If you didn't know specifics, why did you shut down completely? Why the inaction? Why the absurd news stories about holy George contemplating stem cell research like a 12th century theologian? Why the vacation? Why wasn't there more of a focus on finding out what was going on.

If somebody tells me that there's imminent danger, but they don't know exactly what form it will take, I would say: Can we find out? What can we do to get more knowledge? What general and specific steps can we take to prevent these dangers? I suppose the other response would be "Oh well. We don't know, so let's just hope for the best and do nothing" is, of course, somewhat reasonable. But it is not prudent, nor is it acceptable for the administrators of other people's safety.

The "non-specific" is a loser line. Especially in the face of the last two years of "non-specific" threats.
