That's the kind of speech that could lead to resignation |
|
Bush is very weak right now.
We should go for the jugular.
That's the kind of a speech that could easily lead to a resignation.

3. I'm hoping all this commentary will lead to something |
|
I'm expecting that the reaction in the "commercial" media will be deadly tomorrow.
How can anyone positively spin an incoherent speech like that?
It was painful to watch.

6. All the talking heads.............. |
|
I viewed afterward were saying what a forceful, on point speech it was. I couldn't belive what I was hearing, but that's what they were talking about. That was on Larry King and Tweety. Buchanan belive it or not, was AGAIN the biggest critic.

7. It was the same after Russert's * interview, remember? Then |
|
after one day reality set in and we found out we at DU were not crazy. It had been a lousy interview by a moron. Just you wait. When they look at it taped, they will realize how bad it really was. And if you just LISTEN to it, it is even worse.

when cooler heads prevail, we will hear a different story. That whole stunt was so bad, and so full of crap, that the nation will be buzzing about it for days.

|
How to hit the jugular, The question that enthralls: The answer's really simple, friends- We hit him in the balls!
The jugular's amusing, In motley cap and bells, But the wise can see he's losing! So let's just give him HELL!

4. Don't get my hopes up. |
|
I thought he was sort of losing it. I mean he was opening up but he's so mentally confused, he's not sure what the program is anymore. I think the keepers took him back to the lab and loaded him up with a few ludes, or whatever it takes these days and we won't hear a peep out of him until October, unless he really goes wacky.

8. He needs a software upgrade. |
|
I was surprised by the sheer audacity to repeat all of the statements that have been debunked for awhile. I think even he is having a hard time trying to pretend he believes what he is saying. Now that yound dead American soldiers are starting to pile up, I think he's having a much harder time dealing with the fact that he has committed these people to their deaths over his Big Lies.

12. I think he has that syndrome. |
|
Where people feel like they are never good enough and are always faking their way through life. (Of course in his case it is justified, he isn't good enough.) I think it's called the "imposter syndrome" or something like that.
And I do believe his alcoholism has seriously progressed to the point where he must be taking pills or something to stave off withdrawal symptoms.
He tried to do the tough guy act tonight but it just wasn't washing. Stick a fork in him. He's done.
Unlike Bush, Reagan and Cheney, I don't think he is a true sociopath. This might destroy not just his presidency, but his mental health permanently.

|
No way does he think he is "not good enough".
And there is no way that he does that type of self-analysis.
You are kind of right, because he actually isn't good enough, and he is really just a stupid alcoholic moron who is in way over his head...
But, he thinks he is God's gift to 'merika.

21. I don't think the Ativan will help |
|
It may relieve the DT's but it will not get rid of the signs and symptoms of Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome. Watch for these things when you see he speak.
Korsakoff's : A form of amnesia that is often seen in Alcoholics and is characterized by
1) Loss of short term memory and the inability to learn new skills.
2) The person is usually disoriented
3) May present with delirium and hallucinations.
4) Usually confabulates to conceal the condition.
Wernicke's: An inflammatory, degenerative, hemorrhagic condition of the brain that is characterized by
1) Lesions in several parts of the brain.
2) Double vision.
3) Involuntary and rapid eye movements.
4) Lack of muscular coordination.
5) Mild to severe decreased mental function.
These signs and symptoms come about from a lack of B complex vitamins. Ethyl ( Americas favorite lady ) just has the nasty habit of helping one not get their B vitamins. As with any disease, all of the signs and symptoms may be there or none at all in any given moment. I would be real curious to see what a CT - MRI - PET scan would show on him.

22. Like an Inferiority Complex? |
|
No Complex there. He's just plain Inferior.
I'm not too worried about his mental health, so long as cooler heads are keeping him away from the "football." The boosh family can afford the best of specialists to help him through it, after he's been retired to the Pig Farm. (They can probably even afford the special "Napoleon" model strait jackets that come complete with epaulets and "Commander in Chief" embroidered on the back {think "Ted Rall cartoons"}.)
THERE'S a Constitutional Amendment that I'd like to see: a "mental stability" test required before anyone assumes the Presidency!

We really need to have some minimum qualifications for the occupant of the office of the President of the United States because they can cause the destruction of the world. We can't have any more nicompoops as President. We narrowly avoided Dan Quayle, but evidently we couldn't stop the potted plant, known as George Bush, to get there.

9. I Found Myself Feeling Empathy |
|
For all of the Russians who would have been watching Boris Yeltsin delivering a speech totally S-faced. Like them, I didn't vote for the guy. Like most Americans, I didn't vote for the guy. Like most voters in Florida, I didn't vote for the guy, but I felt shame that somehow, through some illegal manipulation of the system, he had become our leader.
The one message that came out of tonight's fiasco is that those who hate us have a pretty good reason to do so.

We've seen people hold up better under grilling from Simon on American Idol.
The American people see dozens of people speaking off-the-cuff on TV every day - from contestants, to politicians, to bantering anchor-people, to people on the street being interviewed.
Seldom have we seen someone come off as idiotic as Bush did tonight.
All the channels really have to do is just play it a lot. They're afraid to come out themselves and call him an idiot. They'll just play it a lot and let the man hang himself.

16. Bear in mind how much the Bush admin flip-flops |
|
With them it's always "principle, principle, principle" - "we're gonna stay the course" - "executive privilege"... and then once enough people point out that they're being totally idiotic, they give in and say "OK!"
They're all bravura and bluffing, like most bullies. You could knock them over with a feather right now.

26. couple two-three things that bothered me |
|
1. The tie -- don't know if you noticed it or not -- but the tie showed up with shifting moving "pattern" on it. It probably had a very small striped pattern on it. However, on the tube it showed up like some sort of "light show" with broad red and blue diagonal stripes moving from the lower left to the upper right when he was standing to the right of the microphone, then when he shifted to the right side of the microphone the stripes moved from the lower right to the upper left diagonally.
my partner quipped: "Look honey even his tie is flip-flopping"
2. His comment about not governing by the polls ---- COME ON, what a load of bush*t! the only reason he had the press conference is because his poll numbers are in the toilet
3. "MUST CALL" -- at one point he was trying to pick out a reporter to call on and said something to the effect "....wait a minute, oh yeah you're on the must call..." What's up with that? I can only assume that he had a list on his podium of reporters that he "MUST CALL" on so whoever could toss him an easy quetion. YAWWWNNN - another scripted road show
overall he danced around all the questions -- and his dancing wasn't all that good -- this was more than apparant with the question about apologizing for 9-11 failures and the question regarding what he sees as a mistake
and did you catch the close-ups on Rove and Condi? Neither of them looked happy with the way the "script" was playing
meanwhile -- AOL POLL this morning: How would you rate President Bush's overall job performance? Poor 45% Excellent 31% Good 14% Fair 10%
How satisfied are you with what he said during his press conference? Not at all 49% Very 39% Somewhat 12% Total Votes: 97,832
