Bush for Blair-Straight Up
No second round picks, future draft picks, no cash, just straight up. I know they are both f*cking morons, but I'd take the deal. Ol Shrub needs Tony to come here and "splain it to the Murican people for me Tony". At least he has a command of the English language! Straight up, what do you say?

1. I would do it.
At least Blair can spell his own name.

2. I'd make that trade in a second!
Blair is clearly corrupt and compromised, but he would have never come up with this Bushevik world domination scheme on his own.

In a SECOND I'd do it.

Blair is not a World-Class Monster, like Hitler, Stalin, Ferd Marcos, Idid Amin, Hussein and Bush.

In a SECOND!

4. I think the LAST thing Blair is is corrupt.
I think he's forced to play a very bad hand, and there might be other ways to play it.

But I definitely think the man is a patriot and he's trying to do the best thing for a majority of his citizens, and has long-term progressivism and liberalism as his goal.

9. You might be right, but that Carlye Board Seat speaks quite loudly
also.

10. Well, apparently the Bush family hates Blair, so a Carlyle board seat is
unlikely.

11. John Major is a member of the Carlyle Board
http://www.thecarlylegroup.com/eng/team/l5-team439.html

I could have sworn Tony Blair was also offered a position (not now, after he leaves).

http://www.networkingtheinternet.com/major-tiger.htm

I know I saw this in the Mainstream Media, but cannot fidn it from Googling.

Perhaps I was mistaken. Perhaps it's been scrubbed (the Orwell Treatment is being used more and more often by the Busheviks).

Perhaps Blair will get a "Major package" for a job well done when he leaves Government...like so many others.

15. Blair was offered a board membership only in the imaginations of those who
want to smear him in the hopes that he'll lose to a Tory in the next elections, and that Tory will eventually be a Carlyle board member as reward for beating labor.

I'll eat my hat if Blair ever gets any reward from a right winger for anything he's done as PM.

What he's ACTUALLY doing is not letting Bush have free reign over Iraq (and therefore, over the future of European economic development) and he's making in changes in the UK which will make it harder for Tories to control society in the future.

14. You might not like to get my endorsement, but I LOVE Tony Blair.
The Norwegian labour party (Arbeiderpartiet) needs a guy like him.

Heck, I'll be rude, and say that the US Democrats would be blessed with a leader like him.

Look at the stats in Britain. Compare that to any country in Europe.

Cheers.

but they're both saying the same thing.

6. I hate to disagree, but Bush does not need Blair
to make him look like a stammering retard. That is the one thing he can do all by his little self.

13. Yeah, but it's just so much fun to watch...
I loved when they showed the sound-bites of the two together.

Blair says something like "If it is found that Saadam Hussein is not cooperating with the weapons inspectors then our two countries will not be afraid to take action."

Bush says "Saadam is evil, he has weapons of mass destruction, and were's gonna get him."

5. I Couldn't Bear To Watch But
My aunt did and told me that the contrast in styles was even more striking than usual, although of course they are spinning the same BS, Bush once again shames us with his deplorable public speaking, God he's getting more stupid by the day, and it's harder for them to hide it during an election year with all his shit hitting the fan.

We need to demand MORE LIVE UNSCRIPTED BUSH!! MORE MEET THE PRESS, MORE PRESS CONFERENCES, PUT BUSH & TONY PRIME TIME! The more people see this bufoon talk off the cuff the better for us.

8. I'd take the trade in a minute
Before the run-up to Iraq..I thought about the trade idea...hell... I would have given two future first round picks....

I'd still take the deal. Tony is redeemable. Bush is not.

12. Pre Iraq war, I'd do it in a heartbeat
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 02:25 PM by Hippo_Tron
Because before that Blair was just as good as Kerry if not better. Post Iraq war, I'd still do it because even though he went into Iraq I'd say that he'd be much less likely to start any future wars like Bush would and he has far superior domestic policies.
