What happened to the "non-combat" deaths in Iraq? |
|
I don't have any hard stats, but it seemed like last summer and at least the beginning of last fall that half of the GI deaths in Iraq were labeled "non-combat," according to antiwar.com, 201 of the 244 GI deaths in Iraq since Saddam's capture have been in combat... now it seems to me that an increase in combat deaths would lead to an increase in non-combat deaths, since long continual combat greatly increases fatigue, stress, and just general chaos and commotion... also, the change-over of army units would increase non-combat deaths.
