1. Craven media whore who got it right this time.
I think he can tell which way the wind is blowing and wants to capitalize on BushCo's impending downfall.

3. Other
He is a reporter first and an opportunist second. Sometimes he is snowed and sometimes he gets it right. We have to take what he writes and says with a grain of salt because he is basically conservative.

5. Neocon whore. Bush has outlived his usefulness to them, Time for him to
go. Woodward is helping the downfall but not because he cares about America or American soldiers or peace or fairness or justice or honor. It's just his marching orders from PNAC. Bush has begun to belive his own delusions of granduer and he has to go. He is out of control!

8. A once-great investigative journalist, now a shameless opportunist
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 07:03 PM by 0rganism
When bush was popular, he was first in line to kiss some bush ass.

Now that bush is in freefall, he'll try to ride that wave for a while.

I'll say this much for him: he's not beholden to any political ideology.

15. That's what I see as well
Bush At War wasn't exactly too critical of a piece.

9. I don't sense that he is offended by any of Bush's* actions!
This diversion of money is worse than Iran/Contra! Let's watch Congress to see if there is any action!

11. used to be a good reporter
now is an administrator who has discovered that gushing over conservatives pays better.

That he's dropped a couple of bombshells in this interview and in his book should come as no surprise. He's still basically a Bush flack who was given access because they knew he'd be flattering. I'm just wondering if he knew what bombshells he was dropping before the book came out and the reviewers told him.

He's a diversionary tactic........."throw 'em a bone." We need to be a part of the awareness that doesn't accept this as good enough.

CIA, Ford Foundation, who knows. He's fronting for somebody. He did seem a bit wary maybe even frightened by Wallace. It was almost as if he didn't trust him to stick with the scripted questions.

on edit, got my mike's messed up

13. Or it could be a move that totally out maneuvered Rove.
Woodward's first book could have been part of his grand design to infiltrate the admin, douping them, gaining their trust, then, whammo - slammo, he exposes what he learned. A journalistic spy if you will. Greg Palest is the master of this, his book, "the Best Democracy Money Can Buy" is by far, the best exposure yet.

14. Moderate Republican Who May Be Slightly Biased
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 07:55 PM by cryingshame
but is calling it like he sees it.

Also think he's got people behind him.

Ultra-Rich white men who don't like the way Bush handled the Iraq invasion.

It needed to be done with more finesse... Bush & Co. made it too obvious an Imperial War.

16. If the whores are turning on Bush (and I'm not convinced they are yet)...
...then there's one explanation:

This smash and grab administration got everything they wanted. They're going to leave the next Democrat holding the bag of huge defecits and a real estate bubble.

They're convinced we're headed for a Great Depression II (which they created). They're convinced that if the bottom falls out while Kerry is president, they'll be able to do what the Democrats did with FDR: win in 2008 on the argument that the Democrats can handle neither the economy nor national security. They think they'll win in 2008 and for years afterwards on the basis that the Kerry was the 21st century's Herbert Hoover.

17. No way Bush and his associates are satisfied.
No way Bush and his associates are satisfied.

Their greed is insatiable.

I wish they wanted to lose, but they want to win in November, and they will steal the election again if they can.
