WTF?? How are we not totally screwed already? Anyone know offhand what percentage of voting machines in those two states are DIEbold? My impression from what I recently read is that it's horrifically high! Anyone here know the exact figure? If it's a dire as I fear, how the hell was this allowed to happen, what can be done about it at this late date, and why isn't Kerry screaming bloody murder over it? (To be fair, I did hear him say that his people were going to be all over any anticipated voting problems/challenges in Florida). <Sigh> This is truly as infuriating as it is frustrating!!

:argh:

:wtf:

1. The news in the papers yesterday in Ohio
was that they still are arguing over the machines. If a decision is not made by the end of the month, the November election will be on the machines they have in place now. Right now only a handful of counties have the Diebold.

3. I saw that Cuyahoga
was one of over half the counties that rejected the Sec. of State's order to install Diebold machines.

7. Now I remember that Florida has 7200 Diebold machines in place!
Is that as huge a number as it sounds? I sure hope I've got it wrong...but in Jeb country...

8. Ruin government as an excuse to privatize.

Poll workers remind me of airport screeners prior to 9/11,it will take an election 9/11 before people wake up.In central Florida,Hillsborough and Pinellas counties have black box voting so I expect the same behavior that we get during a hurricane. We had a power outage during a freeze here and people complained that food spoiled when they could just take it outside. The TSA did not unionize so 43rd could fire bad apples, airports now must hire their own screeners because the TSA has not attracted enough qualified part-time,low-pay workers. The elections around the world turning out Iraq supporters worry me that the election will be rigged.I also wonder that the apathay about this subject is due to the Y2K panic which turned out to be nothing.
