If Toomey wins could it set a precedent for both parties?
Repugs and Dems alike hate DINOs and RINOs, and if Toomey wins otnight, it could have reverberations. For example, haven't some talked about challenging Lieberman in the primaries in 2006?

1. I don't hate DINOs or RINOs
I hold extremist Republicans in contempt, though.

3. Olympia is my Senator. I consider her to be a classic
moderate Repub. To me a Rino is a moderate dem who runs as a Repub because that is what the voting base is. But I doubt that Olympia would switch sides if we had more Dems here.

4. I'm familiar with the terms.
I don't consider Zell a DINO, though... he's working for the Republicans now.

Lieberman irritates me for his social positions & stance on Iraq, but he's no ideologue - we just sincerely disagree. Same with moderate Republicans.

I tend to like RINOs, actually - I'm a big fan of Chafee, for example.

7. I think Zell Miller is in a class of his own...
Lieberman has a few redeeming qualities but not many. Zell supports Frist and the GOP leadership more than the Republicans do.

5. When do the PA polls close?
Anyone have the inside dish on when we can expect the Toomy-Specter results to trickle in?

Exit Poll links, anyone?

6. as much as I dislike neo-con Joe...
I'm not a big Joe Lieberman fan - he's more conservative than his Republican Senate predecessor Lowell Weicker - but, I have not heard of anybody stepping up to challenge him in 2 years. The state Dems here are pretty meek.

8. Living in Louisiana, I've learned to love the DINOs...
The feeling you get when a democrat beats a racist neocon Republican cancels out the fact that you know the democrat will be worthless and will do little to advance a progressive agenda.
