A question about Kerry answering so many questions. |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 09:01 PM by janeaustin
Does anybody know why Kerry keeps explaining himself on things like the medals?
Why isn't this a good enough answer, after he answers the facts once, the next time he should say:
"It's just laughable (pathetic, sad, amazing) that all the Bush administration can talk about is what I did 30 years ago. If they don't have anything else to talk about, it's fine with me; I have nothing to hide.
"But I'd like to talk about what I'm going to do about today's soldiers in Iraq, and today's veterans recovering at Walter Reed.
"I want to talk about reducing the deficit and getting health care for all Americans.
"Now, I will take your questions on my positions on the issues of this campaign and how a Kerry administration will address them."
This worked for Bush in the 2000 campaign when he was asked about his drug use. He said he wasn't going to talk about it.
It works for Scott McClellan every day, when he says he answered that question the day before - even if he didn't.
Wouldn't this be better than endless explanations and parsing by the pundits?

1. I was trying to find quotes from the 1992 election when Clinton was |
|
running against Bush 1. I know there are quotes out there from the mouths of republicans about senior chimps war record and Clinton's lack of one. I could only find one from Quale and one from Mary Matalin. If there is anyone who is good at digging, it would sure be interesting to see what the repubs had to say back then about service to your country and not serving.
Anyway, Clinton stated that he had answered the questions and wasn't going to talk about it anymore. End of discussion.

2. Well, I wish Keryy would quit doing the reporters' |
|
jobs for them.
Why answer the same questions over and over again?
Answer it once and all adjourn to Starbucks. :)

3. Yes. An honest question that has been answered...many times. |
|
So, moving forward here. And ask them a question, or... whatever.
Don't get bogged down in artificial rhetoric. It's a swamp.

Hit them hard once, then move on. Don't keep dwelling on the subject. As Frederick Douglass advised, AGITATE, AGITATE, AGITATE!!

5. Shouldn't his staff tell him not to elaborate? |
