1/4 of US deaths in Iraq caused by lack of armor

Almost a quarter of the coalition combat deaths in Iraq could have been prevented -- if the Pentagon had bothered to invest in fully armoring its vehicles. That's the damning conclusion of a story in Monday's Newsweek.

= = =

As Iraq's liberation has turned into a daily grind of low-intensity combat — and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld grudgingly raises troop levels — many soldiers who are there say the Pentagon is failing to protect them with the best technology America has to offer...

Why do Republicans hate the troops??

4. But....John Kerry Voted AGAINST IT!!!
These attack ads would imply that anyway. This whole thing is ludicrous, to think that a decorated war hero would leave the armed forces naked is clearly insane.

Especially when you really start looking into how the 87 billion is being spent, and how Haliburton is making out like bandits in this deal

6. Rep.Jan Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) Buzzflash Commentary
I had a thread on this yesterday but I am kicking yours up to the top.

This is PROOF of the lack of prewar planning and idiotic assumptions.

I know that they will try to blame this on one Senator's vote (Kerry) and CLinton (and his penis).
