Failure at Fallujah
Edited on Fri Apr-30-04 11:58 AM by SilasSoule
For the freeper types who were advocating a "leveling" of the city, and other such genocidal absurdities, doesn't this handover of power to one of Saddam's generals amount to surrender and cut and running?

If I recall the mission statement prior to the start of the seige, it was to apprehend the perpetrators of the murdered and mutilated mercenaries and to "root out" the "insurgents". Apparrently, the military has abandoned that mission and have switched strategies by now attempting the Re-batthification of IRAQI institutions like military and police?

Why has the U.S. mission failed in Fallujah? Was it due to insufficient troop strengh? The sudden realization that an all out assault on the city and the resulting bloodbath was not in the best interest of the occupation and complicate matters? What are the chances of this Fallujah Stablization force being successful? Will the U.S. military be content with the "insurgents" staying in Fallujah?

1. I predict failure for even the pacification force
And we have failed here,

Two months ago, "stayng the course" (which were not for the reasons given by the Bush Administration), made soem sense

Now there is no use in staying in... they have realzied how to rid themselves of us, even if that means getting their Nazis back.

Good for the Iraqis, but I fear the message this is giving our good pal UBL... and I wonder what Wolfowitz is thinking of his grand scheme to transform the Middle East.. wow the computer simulation NEVER went like this.
