Kerry: America is safer when it's respected, not feared.
That is it in a nutshell.

Bush could NEVER argue against that point.

I don't think the Busholinis know the difference. These are people who still think a gun gets "respect."

7. I really think the fools of BushInc. don't REALIZE the difference.
They lived in worlds where respect for them was FORCED by virtue of birth or the superior positions they held.

They never EARNED respect by doing the right thing.

13. Yup. You can even see it in the way they view religion.

It's a 'God' that says: "Obey or ELSE!" It's a threat. It's the Old Testament authoritarian God. These are people who cannot comprehend the "good news."

16. Important observation, TNut.

And BushInc is well aware that their targeted audience can't comprehend any of the nuance in the Bible, so they exploit the simplistic aspects.

6. Well, Osama didn't respect America and look what he did.
There will always be those who want to attack us, but when we have the respect of our allies and we respect them, we are more likely to foil terrorist attacks before they happen and get help when problems arise.

A safer America is one that is vigilent about threats, foreign and domestic, but doesn't overreact and has good ties with out allies. The isolationist attitude about using power that Bush has is a major threat to us and our allies.

9. I look more at how he should have been stopped.....
He wasn't a stranger on the block like he was in the 95 WTC attack. We all knew who he was and the threat. Clinton spelled it out to Bush and he took responsibility for the Cole bombing.

So...WTC #1,other attacks, then the Cole. Bush had it all laid out in front of him when he took office yet did nothing--except warn Asscroft to stay off of commercial.

12. Bush completely disregarded ANYTHING Clinton told him.
I really think that's the main reason his whole admin. ignored terrorism. They hated Clinton so much, they thought everything he did was wrong. I think BECAUSE Clinton told them terrorism and Osama was their biggest problem, they deliberately disregarded it!

15. Well said John.
Nice contrast to Shrub, who thinks, like a high-school gang-banger, that you get respect by waving a gun under somebody's nose.

Bullies don't get respect. They may be feared, but they aren't respected.
