Is it any wonder that one of the buildings we're told being targeted is the Citicorp building in NYC?
From Greg Palast in Buzzflash in May 2003: "Saudi Prince Waleed bin Talal employed Carlyle as investment banker in his purchase of 10% of Citicorp's preferred stock. The choice of Carlyle for the high-fee work was odd, as the group is not an investment bank. One would almost think the Saudi potentate wanted to enrich Carlyle's connected payrollers."
Google Citicorp+Saudi+Arabia and get all kinds of interesting info.
Gee, strange that Saudi terrorists (see: Bin Laden) would want to target this building. Looks like the Bush* cozy connection with the Saudi royal family might put even more American lives in jeopardy.
Has the media fearfest mentioned the heavy Saudi investment in Citicorp, which might account for the odd inclusion of this specific building?

2. This building has a history, and to the casual observer..... |
|
looks odd, as it's main support columns are in the center of each side, and give it a "floating" appearance. plus this from a show I saw on PBS quite awhile ago...
"In 1978, the skyscraper's chief structural engineer, William LeMessurier, discovered a potentially fatal flaw in the building's design: the skyscraper's bolted joints were too weak to withstand 70-mile-per-hour wind gusts. With hurricane season fast approaching, LeMessurier took no chances. He convinced Citicorp officers to hire a crew of welders to repair the fragile building. For the next three months, a construction crew welded two-inch-thick steel plates over each of the skyscraper's 200 bolted joints, permanently correcting the problem."
