How the softball treatment by the press may backfire on Bush
Everywhere I look, the whore media is playing hardball on Kerry and softball on Bush. They ask Kerry the tough questions about everything, and they ask Bush, "How does your faith in God help you day to day?"

We are not the only ones who notice this type of thing. Believe me, it is becoming more evident by the day.

In the end, it's just another in a long line of things that will paint Bush as the coward he is.

Say it loud and long for the next three months, BUSH IS A COWARD!!!

1. You're more optimistic than I am.....
I think that this stuff goes over the heads of the people who most need to be aware (independents, swing voters, people who aren't political junkies). I just have too many friends and family who are socially and economically moderate to liberal who just don't see these things the same way we do. I shouldn't have to spend near as much time as I do trying to straighten them out with a lot of this stuff and point out the spin. And if they are already more or less on my side and I have to do this, woe be the ones who may actually be more moderate or conservative but just as gullible or ill informed.

2. Everyday another person wakes up to it - and they don't go back to sleep
Once you know someone's a liar you look for their lies, it's human nature.
At this point the whore media is mostly hurting themselves. Bush/Cheney are their own worst enemies, they can implode together.

3. "Bush/Cheney are their own worst enemies"
Not while I'm alive, they aren't.

But watch the media whores. If the softball treatment of Bush actually backfires, and people start noticing what an empty, vacuous man currently squats in the White House, and he fails to win election again in November (except this time it sticks), the media will trumpet their "accomplishment" in bringing down a sitting president with the soft bigotry of low expectations or some such foofaraw.

Of course, if they pave the way to a second, even more disastrous Bush term, they'll be more than happy to jump all over Kerry, saying he "lost" an election that was in the bag, and absolve themselves of all complicity. I've seen this episode too many times not to know how it turns out.

4. You can already see some of that...
the media is having trouble explaining out loud why the "Saudi royal family" line is an attack on Bush...or why crowds are responding to it so enthusiastically...without having to discuss the links between the Saudi royal family and the Bush crime family...

7. I think we may be seeing more of Kerry.
Face it, this is election season and Bush* won't do interviews. They softball his minions but where is he? All we get are his prepared speeches but no Bush* for interviews. I am wondering how long it will be before we don't even get those? If he is indeed as drugged as rumors are saying he is it will begin to become very apparent to everyone as the pressure increases. So, let them hardball Kerry. He already looks superior and that will only get more apparent as time goes on.

8. People tend to want
hard answers too. So the hard questions will help more than hurt Kerry.

9. Call me a cynic, but...
most Americans seem to want easy answers. Complexity scares the shit out of them.

10. True
and the media keeps repeating that we don't know Kerry. Well, we certainly do and those that don't will have plenty of opportunity because they have to interview someone. I saw his with Hemmer this AM on CNN and really, I thought that Hemmer was less snarly than usual. The questions were important and Kerry did well. You get nothing with Bush* but again, how long has it been since Bush* answered a question from anyone? It seems they make the questions then play a sound byte but no interviews. This has to become apparent at some point to others. Kerry will be so ready by debate time, if they have them, that what would normally be a smashing of his opponent will look like a big Kerry speech because he will be ready and Bush* will not. We have gotten too far into this with Bush* to not have him answer for it and the people want those answers.

11. * won't do interviews. Right!
And we need to start putting pressure on the "news" outlets asking them why * is never on to answer any questions.

13. I would think that
if they have a reporter with Kerry that they also have one with Bush*. They report on him, analyze what he said but we never hear from him directly and no questions to him except prepared and reviewed questions. So, we can pressure them but if he won't do it then he won't. I see this as all good for Kerry. He was excellent this AM I thought. He answers quickly, he answers the question they asked, he is not putting out stupid little slogans for answeres and he does not stutter or hem and haw. I think he looks more human than ever before and much more able to do the job. I see this as all good but I could be wrong.

15. Yes, there are reporters with *.
And you're right that he won't answer anything other than prepared questions. The Dems need to take advantage of this as it further proves * is unfit for duty.

The more face time Kerry has doing these ad lib interviews, the worse it is for *.

I think your assessment is right on.

17. God I hope so.
I fear that those who think intellegence is not important are beginning to grow. I am hoping that even those who would rather have someone "like them" will begin to see that he does no better than they would. This is assuming they do not think they could handle the job! Like Michael Moore says, most of us should not be president (or something like that).

18. Wasn't his last interview the MTP failure?
It was awful and he performed miserably. Even the pundits agreed.
