Lester Holt just made some interesting comments about politicizing terror.
I don't have them exactly, but the gist was that many think it is happening. Something about we would hate to think that, but back to the real world. On MSNBC just now.

It was interesting. Had a different feel to it. Calmly said, but said.

1. Good for Lester Holt!
One of the great tragedies in all this tragic time is that so many of us find it impossible to trust the Commander in Chief. Nice to hear that a tv news guy acknowledged the problem calmly.

7. And it can be looked at so many ways
If he sent her, it must be safe

alternatively,

He's too chicken to go so he sent his wife into a hot spot!

4. Indeed, Ma'am
Everyone knows this is the case: the timings of these wretched exercises in panic-mongering are far too obvious not to be transparent. The talking heads understand one thing, too --- if what they say is too far out of whack with what everyone knows to be the case, they will lose their credibility, and hence their income....

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

6. It's the Law of Cause and Effect
Kerry's numbers go up in the polls and suddenly the media is pre-occupied with terrorist warnings, speeches from AssCrotch, etc.

This bunch in the WH is the lowest group of political scum I've seen in my lifetime.

Today I told a ranting rightwing Nut that the warnings were just political. Pissed her off!!!!

Sending Pickles into harm's way the day after they go to Orange tells me everything I need to know about the latest "Terror Warning"..

np: "Final Solution"- Pere Ubu

9. Why pickles
is there anything of substance you could critize her for? As to politicizing terror threats, if indeed this is happening then it would be shameful indeed.

10. I believe the point was...
...if these terror warnings had any substance, he wouldn't be sending his own wife into harm's way.

By doing so he either:
1. proves he is full of shit about the terrorist 'chatter'
2. proves he has no concern for his wife.

Neither option makes him look very good.

11. They kept right on covering the convention when the Bush people
"suddenly" decided it was time to round up some Hamas funders. They also continued their coverage of the convention when they picked up that woman on the border with 7 grand. Not just one cable news service, all of them but Fox. Other channels covered it, but nobody gave it the attention the Bush people must have hoped for. Maybe they staged those charades just to give Fox-newsers something to watch during the convention.

12. Also, Dan Abrams had a discussion on whether or not it was political.
Actually it was quite good. I don't usually watch his show. He had Larry Johnson and Steve Emerson. Johnson pretty much agreed there may have been a political aspect to the earlier alerts at times..

Which is what Dean said...pretty much.

So the TV has been filled with the idea of maybe it is being politicized. That is a good thing.
