I will say this much....I will not miss Daschle as minority "leader". |
|
I will probably get some flack for saying so, but his soft-spoken and sometimes spineless leadership never impressed me.

2. I never really liked him, to be honest. |
|
Maybe he was "soft spoken" in an attempt to reach across the aisle, but that clearly doesn't work. What we need is a hard-nosed son of a bitch as Minority Leader who will fight and claw for every inch of ground. In other words, a Liberal who plays the game like a dirty Republican.

3. I think we need to find a leader who isn't holding on to his seat ... |
|
by his fingernails. Someone who base of support is so strong he can do and say what needs to be said and done.

5. Now we can get an Opposition Leader, |
|
not a Minority Leader. There is a difference. I nominate Kerry.

He was all too eager to bend over and take it up the ass for Bush.
South Dakotans will get tired of Thune all too soon.
Especially the Native Americans as they watch their land and water taken away for oil and gas exploration.

7. It was stupid putting up a minority leader from a red state |
|
and the Democrats are about to repeat that mistake with Harry Reid.
Only a Senator with a safe blue-state seat should be considered for minority leader, and that person should be pro-gun.

8. I saw a photo of him... |
|
...standing around Bush with a bunch of pols shortly after Bush "won" in 2000 and Daschle had a HUGE smile on his face. He looked like he was fucking HAPPY that Bush had won. He was just yukking it up. That was not a good sign for me. Good riddance.

14. Thune is hardly his "replacement"..... |
|
Thune is not speaking for our party. Daschle was.
Nice try, but it's not gonna fly.
Daschle was weak and ineffective in his job. He tried to reason with republicans instead of taking his case directly to the people.
BIG FUCKING MISTAKE!

19. he is his replacement actually |
|
The people of SD have deemed him such. My point was that even weak "leadership" from Daschle is going to be better than what Thune brings to the table.

12. Gee, I wonder is Daschle is "concerned" today.... |
|
or just "disappointed" or "distressed." He was never OUTRAGED, like he should have been for about six years now.

13. The only thing I miss about him is his vote...and even then... |
|
he went along with too much republican bullshit.
I am sad to see his vote go. I have no use for the man himself.

I'd love to see that happen.
I would like to see anybody who opposed the war in Iraq as minority leader.

Hopefully, he won't be replaced by someone as eager to roll over as he and Gephardt were.
