perfect but painful plan to win back the country |
|
concede everything to the republicans. Let them get their way on every issue, let the country slip. It will be a painful and hard 4 years, but will solidify how horrible these people's plans are. Do we have the stomach for it? I don't know.. I know I can stomach it, but I wouldnt be giving up much. Maybe take a few key issues that will have very long term effects to filibuster, such as supreme court nominations if that comes up, but besides these things let them get their way. Even if their plans were sound, having this kind of power will ultimately lead to a lot of pork in every bill. What other choice is there? At least for the first two years.

when it comes to the crisis point they will try to consolidate power by force if need be.
we will not see democratic control of anything as long as they control the election machinery. they will have the senate supermajority in 2 years and the wh again in 08. it is fascism my friend. pure and simple.

Strategy or no. The Republicans are taking this as a mandate, and are going to try to get through every republican talking point as quickly as possible. Democrats will have to work along with them or else be irrelevant. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

3. It looks like I will get richer |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 07:53 AM by Wright Patman
and I was pretty well off to begin with. But I am not happy about the middle class disappearing. It was going to be worth it to me to make less money to see measures begin to be taken to restore the middle class. In the long run, this is not sustainable
But that's not gonna happen. We are headed toward feudalism and the only question now is how much firepower will be needed to keep the serfs out of the castles or anywhere near them. But, as I say, in the 21st century and especially in this country, the firepower is spread around a lot so it is not going to be sustainable.
Heck, look at Iraq. It has no army and is conducting a fairly successful guerrilla insurrection against the self-proclaimed greatest superpower in world history.

10. I'll probably do all right, too |
|
Okay, I'm not rich, but I'm working for a company that is doing very indeed in the Bush economy. My benefits are going up, salary is up, new bonus plan is kicking extra income.
Meanwhile, I have no debt, no children to subsidize, no elderly parents to support. So I'm doing good.
Which means I could afford -- and would be willing -- to pay more into this society to keep it strong and healthy. It's the right thing to do.

5. As Bill Clinton Did in '95! |
|
He let the rethuglicans VASTLY over interpret the results as a sigh of a massive move to the right. He gave them the rope and they happily put it around their neck and JUMPED from the gallows with idiot grins on their faces.
They won by running away from the issues and their record. This does not mean, however, that the problems they created will go away.
My wife and I are heartbroken. My 4 year old son cried when we told him that Kerry had lost. He has been a hero to me since 1971 and I believt that he would have been a GREAT president.
That being said hgowever, maybe this wasn't such a bad one to lose. While a party is never better served by defeat than victory, at least the people who created this mess will have to face the shit storm when it hits. I see a good future for us as a party. There are many bright spots on the horizon.
Already they are reacting to the moron's vote total (exceeding reagan's) as a monumental endorsement. They seem unwilling or incapable of seeing that there is a major difference between *'s 51% and reagan's 59%, 49 state victory.
This Hubris WILL come back and bite them in the collective ass.
BTW, many moderate r's may just by very tired of the heavy handedness of the neo-cons. John Kerry was endorsed by an Eisenhower, a Rewagan and several of *'s cousins. This is borne of an awareness that the r's are TOO EXTREME! It did not pay off on 11/2/04. It will in the future. And perhaps that future is not too far off.
Sorry about being long winded. As always, I am eager to hear the thoughts of others.

I'm hoping that the end result of an 8-year reign (or longer) will be the thorough discreditation of the Republican agenda. I just wonder how far we'll fall before the American people turn their back on fascism. Unfortunately, as the Germans showed, "bottom" can be very far down indeed.

16. The Bottom May Not Be As Far As We Think! |
|
Some moderate r's and even some conservatives are getting damned tired of the neo-con line and may not be so supportive in the future. I personally think it will hit soon. I look forward to seeing some rethugs running like hell from * when their asses are on the line in '06. An example, I wonder just how secure little rickey santorum is feeling in PA aqbout now? How about when he has to run on the * record in 2 years?
The story this year is the D's in red states. The story in 2 years may well be the r's in the blue states.
There's nothing wrong with our party that 1 or 2 good election cycles won't fix!

9. Democrats need to speak up against and vote against the RW agenda |
|
If Democrats get co-opted and go along with the Bush agenda, they will look weak and spineless, they will not be able to blame the Republicans for anything and they will be the ones taking the blame . Dems need to stick to their principles and not cave in like weaklings.

I think we should also all just shut up
let the right wing dominate the public discourse. The more a message is out there over time, the more people want another voice. Hold off as long as we can until the next election cycle, them come in with a clear well defined message to offer an alternative to the American Empire.

but I think if people like Michael Moore and the whole hollywood crowd, just stayed away from the media. Give people a break from being scolded on how bad the country is. Let them come to the conclusion themself. Yes its hard to do, but I think it would be wise.

it needs to be clear that the democrats are NOT working with them, but simply stepping out of the way -- i.e., not voting
Agree that bad supreme court nominations need to be filibustered (if it can be done successfully)

19. Democrats should boycott the congress |
|
And all democrats should boycott paying their taxes. Let the wankers pay for their own mess.
I aggree, that akido, would take the opponent's momentum and throw them with it, so as they're pushing to destroy opposition, offer none. Its the dictator's country, not mine. However, given that strategy, all people who will be imprisoned or killed by the puke police state should head for the hills... like the british did during the bombing of london during WW2, send the families and kids out to safe haven in the countryside, with only necessary core people staying engaged with the enemy.
The USA could collapse totally in to bankruptcy within 10 years and force a whole new constutiton, or a breakup of the country. I think that akido will take us to this brink, in order to restore human rights for those who will, by then, greatly respect them.
