Any chance Kerry will be the Senate Minority Leader? |
|
I think it'd be a great way to say we're serious and we're not going away.
I hope at least that he starts being a serious thorn in the Republicans' sides and stand firm - Ted Kennedy #2

Chris Dodd is going to run.
Sad to say, but Dems are NOT nice to presidential losers. :-(
Kerry's still my senator though.

9. Chris Dodd is NOT going to run |
|
for Minority Leader. He stated this on CNN on Wednesday night. Kerry would not be an effective ML. Alas, Harry Reid already has it in bag.

10. Reid knows how the system works. |

The only chance we have to slow down the monster is in the Senate.

I can't bear to watch CNN (or any cable news, for that matter) right now.

2. In all honesty, I'd rather he didn't. |

Because they will always have the "We Won" thing to hang over him. Plus, he's relatively moderate, and I think it's time for us to shift into the Left Lane in order to pull this country back to the center. That, and many Democrats are pissed at him for giving up before the last count was in. I hope he stays in the Senate, because I think he does very good work. But Minority Leader? I just don't see it.

3. I thought that is a good idea too |
|
because it would be like the British parliamentary system. Bush is prime minister and Kerry as the losing candidate is the opposition leader in the Senate. Having Kerry who got 48% of the vote as the Senate Minority Leader would actually give that most more moral authority in my view.

4. I think he should resign. His concession speech was a betrayal of his |
|
supporters. If he resigns, an honorable Democrat can be elected to replace him. He no longer has any honor.

I want someone more committed to standing up to the reThugs. Kerry may have put up a decent fight, but I am miffed with the way he handled the concession.

8. Kerry didn't just betray us... |
|
Betrayed the country and betrayed himself! I saw "Going Up River" and this Kerry is just the kind of politician the Kerry of the 70s would've been protesting!
Durbin for Minority Leader, with Obama at his back! The tag-team from Illinois!
