Is there any good news today?I feel worse than on Nov3rd! |
|
Is there any reason I shouldn't try to move to Europe and forget this mess? I would like to know. Silence from our leaders. The press is muzzled and the vote isn't being recounted! Why should I stay?

2. The dollar is so low against the Euro that |
|
moving to Europe isn't even an option for most.
The only upbeat thing I heard today is that Howard Dean might make a run for the DNC chair.
Other than that, well, I know how you feel.

I even heard a depressing story on Pacifica this a.m. about how even if you renounce your U.S. citizenship, you end up having to pay American taxes for 10 YEARS after you leave ... I don't want to fund this war for 10 more years!!!!!

7. And you have to pay taxes in the country |
|
you live in as well. But there is a big deduction for Americans living abroad. I don't know what is now. It doesn't matter, I can't afford the exchange rate.

After months - for some of us years - of desperately warning people and of waiting for the other shoe to drop, the struggle and anticipation are finally over. It was a very stressful phase, because many of us were swimming against the current for so long and questioning our own sanity. Now that we know that fascism has arrived, there is no more dread and no more worrying about persuading people. The struggle enters a new phase now and the worry and anxiety are over.
The biggest barrier and the greatest cause of misery has been living among people who were in denial as the country slid slowly towards tyranny. It is not a happy situation, but the ambiguity and anticipation is over. Very soon, no one will be in denial, and all of the energy that had been put into persuading and arguing with people can be put directly into the struggle and into restoring and rebuilding the country and freedom and democracy.
Worrying about coming danger is stressful. Once it arrives, you get to work and you have more support from others. Ironically, life has been comfy for Americans, but they have been miserable. Now it becomes very uncomfortable, but fulfilling and meaningful.
