Thanks for passing that along.
I don't know if McClintock is your choice.
Actually, I am for Gray Davis and I believe that if you poled everybody in California right now that Davis would still get just about the same number of votes that he did in the election. I believe that the current claims about his unpopularity are fabricated with the express purpose of (conning) convincing as many people as possible (among those stupid enough to always vote for winners instead of any heartfelt choice) that the premise that Davis is out is a foregone conclusion. It may work ---- but not on me.
As for the opinions floating around that the state (only one among 38 that are damn near bankrupt because of Bush) would be better in anybody's hands other than the person who actually has tried to fight Bush and the Feds over their part in the perpetration of this ill economy, well, I think that it is obvious to all except those whose brains have been turned into Jell-O by TV, that it is an agenda
of the neo conservatives to expressly bankrupt all state and federal governments for the purposes of Killing All programs that bog business considers "giveaway" programs.
If the boobus americanus votes in favor of that, then they will get what they deserve in my opinion.

> hi ***,whether it's in your genes, or from a bump on the head when you were young, you just can't blame every social and economic ill on bush, the republicans, or even capitalism. you need to venture away from those haters on npr, long enough to clear your head. lo life davis is, in my opinion, one (among many on both sides of aisle) of the most overtly corrupt politicians in the country, not to mention a bad manager. they (socialist-democrats) control the legislature. what more do they need. how much more time would he need to really run the state into the ground. that said, i agree with you, that he will probably survive the recall. you talk about being conned.
the dumbass voters of california will be. i am half tempted to vote against recall myself if it looks bad for republicans. the thought of that racist socialist bustamante running the state really is scarey. imagine, white flight from california.who is going to be left to pay tribute. all the other states on the edge of bankruptcy also deserve what they get. can't any of them do the math. oh hell, just keep the
presses running. there will be plenty of money to take care of
everyone and everything. nationalize every service, every
commodity. bread lines aren't so bad. or will it be tortilla
lines. you will finally get to meet your neighbors. long live boobus americanus. ok ***, as always. it's always fun to exchange rants. just don't give up your firearms.........and may God bless America. the greatest nation on earth.

Great riposte ***!
But you know damn well that if it were Clinton in the white house right now that every blasted Republican would have more weight than a fleet of battleships in paper to prove that he was the source of the economic depression we are in.
Admit it Joe, Bush has screwed America out of the economic surplus that Clinton built up in six years ---- and any Republican that gets into this state will turn us so much farther down, they'll be selling
the state to Mexico for annexation to Baja.
Can't you guys ever take your own medicine?
As for Davis, I won't forget the time when he sued all of the banks in California in class action to force them to pay back people (in the billions) the money they had stolen from them because during the Reagan years, the banks had managed to change the laws. Don't you remember the stories when we were children about all of the people who had put pennies into a savings account and 50 years later they had enough to retire on? During Reagan, the banks got the laws changed
so that banks could automatically charge interest on any "dormant" account and seize it when it reached a certain percentage of the balance.
That is typical Republicanism to ensure that the rich can steal from the poor.
Davis is just a typical Democrat and Democrats don't abide that kind of crap. I've got about a dozen other Davis as (hero of the working class) stories to tell if you want to hear them.
Not that it matters. Some people remember them, and others don't and we'll see if enough remember the good he's done for us when the time comes.
As far as the other members of government goes, I think that the bottom line is that you get what you pay for.
I think that it does cost money to provide all the services it takes to keep our society functioning and that it is pure poppycock
(French for shit so fresh that it steams) when Republicans tell us they are against government.
If they were honest about that they would do us all a favor and just stay out of government!!!
OKAY so that all sounds over the top to you.
I feel like a good tit-for-tat today!
I'm even ready to send in a few enfilades and rakes for any ole shot over the bow you send this way, you old pirate, you!~
(have you seen Disney's "Pirates..." movie yet? It is GREAT! Have a fine LABOR Day weekend!

2. A Great Example of...
The Republican in this exchange is a great example of the mindset that a whole of Texans have: Ignorance stirred slightly with some spin and garnished with sprig of racism and a few leaves of class warfare.

These are people who it simply does not pay to discuss politics with because they are beyond help. Reachout posted a piece in another thread that got quoted to start a huge General Discussion thread here in the last three days that applies perfectly to this person and many other Republicans out there: George Bush speaks to them on a very primitive level (and I'm not talking about his atrocious grammar and rhetoric). He speaks to their selfishness, fear, exceptionalism, and ignorance in the contemporary conservative manner. He tells them who is responsible and who they should fear.

As Democrats we can't be bothered by people like this guy. They are the enemy. We can't fight them, though; we have to fight their message.

3. Is this guy in the military??
For someone attacking the California legislature as a bunch of "Socialist-Democrats" he sure seems ignorant as to what "socialism" is. Does he realize that EVERYTHING is provided gfor him in the military???? I know of know other socialist construct within the United States that so closely resembles "socialism" as the US military, let alone the California state legislature. What a moran.

5. Rhetoric like this really pisses me off
People like this should just shut the fuck up and listen to themselves for one minute. They hate Davis because they think he mismanaged the state, made bad decisions, and showed no financial restraint.
Yet they love Bush, despite the fact that he is racking up record deficits.

7. What is up with the stupid lame ass namecalling from RWingers
This Rwinger spouts the same stuipd names that I have heard over and over and over to describe liberals, "socialists", "commies" "commie pinkos", ad nauseum. These names are from the cold war McCarthy era and they sound very stupid when I hear them being used today. I don't even get insulted by those names because they do not have the same reverance say about fifty years ago.

It would hurt my feelings more to be called a "dumb puppy". Damn you Johnny Depp! :silly:

8. Could you expand on this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As for Davis, I won't forget the time when he sued all of the banks in California in class action to force them to pay back people (in the billions) the money they had stolen from them because during the Reagan years, the banks had managed to change the laws. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I work in the banking industry and I'm a little foggy about this. I know that the banks are able to close "dormant" account and send the money to the state. But I am not aware of the law you're talking about.
