Funding for the most exciting developments in Biological Sciences are being blocked and with it the possibility of preventing or findinga cure for some of the most intractable diseases that have plagued mankind.Discrimination in all its ugly forms is now becoming acceptable.Except of course discrmination against stupid rich frat boys.Health care for the old, the young and the disabled is a receding dream.Pensions for retired people are being decimated by corporations that are becoming bankrupt.Corporations, unable to compete with foreign competitors, are fleeing to India and China, leaving a large number of well qualified Americans unemployed.The same corporations seek tax cuts on the pretext of increasing their investments.Of course, they mean investments in India and China.


Every where I turn I see one calamity after another. My analogy to lunatics taking over the asylum does not seem farfetched to me.
