O come, O come ye Republican challenger |
|
With the new Ipsos Reid polling, it would seem that certain Republicans would be considering challenging Bush for the nomination.
We must closely monitor any cracks and peeling. Also any signs of faltering fundraising.

1. wouldn't McCain be 1st in line? |

4. McCain could singlehandedly *SAVE* this nation from disaster |
|
or at least that's my feeling. *if* he decided to bite the bullet and take one for the team (assuming he really does love America), and run for President in the General election as an Independent. He gained a huge amount of respect among moderates after the 2000 "election". If he ran on his own ticket he would split the Republican vote and put our man (or Ms. Mosley Braun) in the White House.
Damn, imagine how it would be possible to be proud of America again if we had a McCain/Dean, McCain/Kucinich, etc. race in 2004. I don't love McCain, but I don't think I'd be embarassed of my country if he were President right now.

6. McCain is frighteningly conservative |
|
his only saving grace is he's pro-choice. But I like the idea of him helping Kerry by destroying Bush. And that is a distinct possibility given the personal feelings between the 3 men.

Maybe Rudy G.?
Joe Lieberman?....oops nevermind.
Wesley Clark should pull a switch and knock him out.
I say by this time next year Shrub will be about as electable as a chunk of cowshit.
Brother Jeb is smarter (like that's hard) and is supposed to be one of the new maniac tough guys rising in the Repug party. Maybe he'll oust his dim witted sibling.
I'd like to see a Wolfowitz-Perle ticket myself. That's sort of like Hannibal Lecter and The Tooth Fairy joining forces. Not to mention they are both about as lovable as rotting toad carcasses.
Cheney and Rove?
For some reason Karl may not appeal to any voter of skin color. The Veep on the other hand is nearly unstoppable. That guy shakes off heart attacks like the average person does a common cold.
Ahhhhnold?
Methinks come next month he'll have egg on his face. Or has that already happened?
I got it! Tom Delay.
He may lack appealing to voters who actually have hearts, though.
ok, I'm done.

8. Not to enrage Clark supporters |
|
But yes, wouldn't a Clark Republican run just monkey wrench the whole GOP?

I don't think Clark as a Republican would hurt a thing. After all, Powell was out there in 1999 and that didn't slow the whistle-ass from the rise to power. I don't think there is a reasonable person on the planet that thinks for a single second that if Powell had been the Republican nominee rather than Bush and had won, which he might very well have been able to do legitimately, that the country would be in the mess it is now. Don't get me wrong, this is not an endorsement for any Republican, I'm just saying that there was a man with a very strong military background out there available to compete with Bush the last time and it didn't make any difference.

The Pukes will not drop Smirk, and no lockstepper is going to buck him. As for the base, Pukes are not known for their ability to admit they are wrong. Smirk is their boy, and they'll ride that horse right into the ditch. Plus, Smirk's been collecting huuuuuuge amounts of cash. He's the corporatists boy too, and they're not going to see that investment pissed away. I'd say the only hedging of bets they are doing is to make sure they control the black boxes at the polls.
