Can we take Delay's seat?
I don't know Texas politics. Is there anyway we can take Delay's seat? How hard will it be? What does it take? What are the challenges?

6. It means
that delay wouldn't say or do some of the outlandishly reactionary things he does if he felt the least bit worried about not being reelected. the evil chief bug exterminator has no fear of voter retribution and he can't even spell diebold.

8. If it's rural that should be easy.
All you have to do is promise to bring home the pork. Find out why Delay is popular and what he brings home from Washington. Most good old Texas boys are interested in what's going on at home. Are they getting their farm subsidies, etc. They don't care what he does in Washington or how big an asshole he is as long as he gets them the federal funds that they need.

Democrats really need to take a page out of that book. Give your voters what they want and then when you go to Washington you can pretty much vote any liberal cause you want as long as it isn't affecting them back home. My two cents, anyway.

9. almost any part
of Texas seems to be moderately to extremely conservative.
In the subburbs around Houston, Dallas, and parts of the bedroom communities of Austin - you encounter very strong conservative partisan sympathies. I tend to see lots of SUVs with American flag decals driving around town here.

A lot of Texans think bush is OK - still.

Delay is not going away anytime soon
