Who do you think will get the republican nomination in 2008? |

Maybe DeLay, maybe Frist?

After what is going to happen to G.W. Bush (exposure of his lies, and crimes, and then major defeat at the polls), the Bush dynasty is finished in the country,......forever more.

I am thinking the GOP will nominate someone precieved to be more moderate and less connected with Bush.
A big question is if Cheney will step down as veep during the 2nd term due to health reasons. If that happens the new veep would be the front runner in 2008.

He'll declare something that cancels the election in 2004, and shortly thereafter, he'll either declare himself president for another 4 years. By the time that 2008 rolls around, he will have declared himself president for life.

There is no way in hell America would elect another Bush, he has no chance to win.
But I think it might be Frist, he has a large enough ego that he probably has his sights on the White House, god help us.

14. The repukes are already planning on Shrub winning next year, |
|
and they are already planning on little bro Jebbie being the 2008 nominee (nice of them not to at least consult the sheeple, isn't it?) But I agree with you, I don't think Jeb has a chance; he's not nearly as charismatic with the public as Smirk is, and he's much more blunt and has no sense of a political bedside manner.

11. Disagree, Pocho...they will maintain the Charade |
|
Emperor Jeb by 16%.
47 states.
Except the three that had yet to convert to Diebold machines (and were penalized by losing federal block grants--they'll be up and running by 2012 though)
Yawn.
They will maintain the Charade...the Imperial Senate...the semblence of Free Speech (as long as you don't try to exercise it)...
Or maybe I'm just being over-optimistic.

9. Assuming WhistleAss get elected in 2004 |
|
If WhistleAss serves a second term, I think they'll be stuck with Cheney. I don't think he has a self-scrificial bone in his body. I think Jeb is a good chance, too. Either if Chimpy McAwol doesn't win, or if Cheney bows out because of ill health.

I am taking the kid and moving across the border (I'm not far from it) to Canada, I don't give a damn if I have a job or not. I will not live in a country whose citizens actually vote for the Bushistas, and I will not be able to stand watching them destroy and trash this great country. Call me one of the "new expatriates", because I don't think I'll be alone!

17. DeLay is the dream candidate for us |
|
he'd be like Sharpton for the Repukes. Which is why the GOP will never nominate him. Rove isn't that dumb.
Frist is pretty unpopular with his current job as Senate Majority Leader, count him out.
Tom Ridge wants it apparentely, but he's pro-choice, count him out.
My guess is Hagel.

I dunno butterfly Shrub seemed like a joke they could groom Delay, and if they were to swipe an election for him. Well I think that resistance group could begin.

20. that's why it'd be him |
|
because in 2008 Bush will be seen exactly as he is, the most incompetant and worst president we've ever had. So that's a plus for Hagel, he could argue he did stand against the corrupt administration at times.
While Bush may look like a joke at first, he has the bonus of being the son of a former president. That's the only reason why he got the nomination. Plus he was able to campaign as a centrist. There is no way the GOP would be able to portray DeLay as a centrist after some of the comments he's made, and he'd have trouble getting even the Republicans to vote for him in the northeast and west coast. He'd win a few deep south states and the 3 ultraconservative western ones (Wyoming, Idaho and Utah) That's it. The Democrat would get all the swing voters and even a good chunk of the Republicans.

I can't imagine. The fact that they had to sleaze someone like Dubya in shows how few leaders of national stature they have.
