Imus: "Linguini sucking liar" |
|
This is their spin on the Italian journalist event this morning. Imus suggested that "a linguini sucking liar" might be a "little harsh". There were so many gems like this dropped in just a few seconds that I can't remember them all - "communist", "mad (as in insane), psychological problems from being kidnapped", "emotional", "should have taken a helicopter". Laughing the entire time. I usually don't watch, but was just clicking through when I heard this. What a pile of excrement.

had it been Italian troops shooting at some poor god-fearing 18 yr old kid from a trailer park in W. Va... then we'd hear about it for days.

It was an "accident" they did not "know" who was in the vehicle. Bunch of "terrorists" in a convoy.
Yeah right...

|
Honestly why do people on here still listen to Imus. He's not funny. He's not accurate. What possible reason could there be to watch or listen to him?

I do like to turn him on if they do not talk about male body parts. They are really into that stuff. I think they all have a male image problem.

I, too, once thought he was entertaining. But his hate practically floods through the tube anymore. Don't need it. Especially not at 7 a.m.

And widen the growing gulf between the USA and the rest of the world.
Thanks a pantload, Imus -- following Bush's lead in making people round the world hate America.

What is the relationship between this Imus character and GE, specifically? I thought he was just another generic RW hack.

15. Imus was a Kerry supporter & voter... |
|
...and he's always been an outspoken curmudgeon - he's skewered the * administration's nonsense over and over and over again for years. I don't recall reading any threads of complaint from you on those occasions... Get :grr: all you wish: but Imus has been nothing if not consistent; he takes the headlines of the day, and pokes fun at the principals, left, right, & center, indiscriminately. That's sorta, you know, like his job as an entertainer.

If Imus said these things then he deserves no support from anyone. You defending it only allows this abusive behavior to continue.

|
...if all that's keeping his show on the air "to continue" his so-called "abusive behavior" is one stray post of mine posted on a web forum, don't ya think? /sarcasm
I'll "defend" whom I wish despite your input, thank-you very much. Don Imus is one of the good guys, despite the fractured hysteria of a tiny sliver of posters here.

19. Imus also had a fake Harvey Weinstein reading sports news |
|
with various not very subtle double-entendres. They also went back and forth about the Out Magazine column supposedly outing a CNN anchor.
But most of the 8 am hour was devoted to Sen. Rick Santorum and the vaccine/autism controversy -- Imus seems to be convinced that this is a genuine issue. After Santorum was on, Imus and his colleagues indulged in mercury poisoning jokes (Imus' legendary irritability is a symptom of mercury poisoning).
My take on Imus: he's kind of like South Park, deliberately provocative, for the sake of entertainment. But he will switch into his serious mode, and interview NBC reporters and various politicians on serious subjects with little banter. He's not always good at warning his listeners when he's being serious or mock-provocative, however; he understandably infuriates many people.
I usually don't pay much attention to Imus. But I'm home with the flu.

27. I really don't understand why anyone listens to Imus |
|
He interviews the same ten people over and over and then makes some nasty unfunny comment about whatever politician (Democrat or Republican) who happens to be in the news. He's not a Republican, and he's not a Democratic. He's just a bitter old burn-out who still can't get over the fact that he was once the number one dee-jay in New York and is now some third-tier MSNBC personality.
