It's early and I haven't had a sufficient amount of caffine, so any help with this letter would be appreciated at the moment. Would like to send today - and I think this is a message we all need to be sending to our papers. Since guilt is the only thing that Christians seem to truly understand. Our paper requests 100 words or less. Thanks. I know Garab is spelled wrong - can't recall what it is now though.
Where are all the voices from the Moral Majority? Why after Bush’s election have they all gone silent on matters of the abuse of human beings at Abu Garab, reports of our CIA flying human beings to other countries to be tortured, apparently one man boiled alive? What about Bush’s assault on the poor, and his wished for assault on the elderly with his social security scheme to rob them of their security? I no longer recognize America under this supposed Christian president. I do not pretend to have the ear of God, but certainly God would weep over the barbaric cruelty we have thrust upon so many of his children with our bombs and bullets and hateful rhetoric.

If it were me, I'd pick one -- domestic or international -- and go with that, because then you can get in more detail. But 100 words isn't a lot to work with. It's very evocative but I'd make it even more so with extra details to really slam home the contrast between Christianity and cruelty. I'd go for domestic issues, and poverty, because then you could work in the Bible quote "as you have done this to the least among you, you have done it to me."
Good work, just my two cents!

this is what I went with, already sent it - we'll see if it gets published. Its purpose is to make ONE think....... I only know that I am sickened by the nightly news and if the Moral Majority are so "moral" - than its their voices that need to speak up because supposedly us Democrats are just sore losers.
Where are the voices from the Moral Majority who voted for Bush? Why the silence on matters of abuse at Abu Ghraib, reports of the CIA flying humans without charge or representation to other countries to be tortured, with one man boiled alive? What about Bush’s assault on the poor, and his hoped for assault on the elderly with his SS scheme? I no longer recognize America under this supposed Christian president. I do not see Christ in any of these actions. Surely he would weep over the barbaric cruelty we have thrust upon so many of his children with our hateful rhetoric, bombs and bullets. My conscious is clear, I have never condoned these atrocities or this President. America has become what it has always loathed, apparently with the blessing of the Moral Majority.
