Does the documentary "Supersize Me" show animal abuse? |
|
I want to watch it, but I'm imagining scenes of cows being butchered and other awful images. I'm tender-hearted so if those things are in it I'll skip the movie.

It's all about the health aspect of fast food. The only really nasty bit is when he throws up. Oh, and some sort of rectal exam, but that's fuzzed out.
I don't know is there's anything like that in the special features (I didn't watch them) but there isn't in the main feature.

5. The best special feature was of the experiment with the various burgers |
|
The fries, man, the fries.
It will make you want to never eat at a McDonald's again. And actually, I haven't since I saw this last year. Good work Supersize Dudeman....my arteries thank you.

7. I can easily stop eating at McDonald's, so that's good |
|
Someone mentioned that in the movie there's a conversation about meat in one hamburger possibly coming from many many cows, so I imagined them going further with the explanation (to the slaughterhouse.)
Thanks for the info :-)

4. I watched a good bit last night. |
|
Fell asleep, but saw about 1/2, no sign of animal cruelty up to that point.
I admit, I was starting to feel a little pukey watching him eat all that junk. Ick.

6. i work at wendy's during the summer |

in a very conservative area of pennsylvana, by a large hunting store, cabelas. we get lots of bush supporters, and i kind of feel like i'm going my part to help wipe them out. :-P
oh the stories i could tell...
i don't know why people get so outraged over things like smoking (which we used to do in the breakroom after the dining room is closed and it's drive-thru only, which is not far from where we make the food)but they will stuff themselves with stuff like that. i would munch a little at the fries and nuggets, because I normally worked from 5 pm to 2 am, and most days didn't eat till i got home. but some of the food is almost scary. ever see a triple? 3/4 pounds of beef, swimming in grease. yuck.

8. The parts that talk about where the food comes from |
|
are all animated. "where do chicken nuggets come from?"

Although there was one cartoon scene lampooning "chicken nuggets" that showed a chicken being dismembered and chopped up. But that was a cartoon, and very, very brief.

Every American should see it. I don't have children so I was stunned what passes for the school lunch program in most schools these days! Yikes!
The only gruesome scene is a stomach stapling procedure they perform on some obese guy.
