6. Cokespoon's reply: "Personal responsibility...uh...
well...it...it's for persons...we don't want companies being treated like persons...I mean companies are full of persons but they're not paid to be responsible...persons are persons that need to be responsible.

Why do you hate freedom?"

18. .we don't want companies being treated like persons
Ummm that is not the case for the Red States. They fully endorse Corporations as having equal rights as a person, or don't you understand what is happening in Corporate Amerika. The only thing corporations can not do as a person is vote. You believe Bush* will back the people over the Corporations????? Has any Republican ever backed the people over the Big Business interests?

4. That is the only GOOD news to come out of the
bankruptcy debacle. That is really ironic, and it warms my heart to think of some of Bush's fiercest supporters getting kicked right in the teeth by the repubs they love so dearly.

HAHAHAHA!!

7. These people don't get it at all.
There's this issue. There's the fact that they themselves reap most of the rewards of the social programs they villainize. They criticize schools, but theirs are the ones that rank last in the country. They have the highest abortion rates.

These people do not fucking get it at all. I have little sympathy.

17. I think many are naive about how much the government does provide
Our roads are paved & maintained with tax dollars
Our air is kept (reasonably at times) clean due to federal & state air standards.
Our prescription drugs are generally safe due to FDA regulations, as is our food supply.
The water we drink is usually clean due to clean water regulations.
Our homes & cars are built to certain federal, state and local safety standards.
Our workplaces are kept reasonably safe (most of the time) due to OSHA regulations.
Our police forces & fire departments are maintained through tax dollars, our military is as well.

Then, I would say - who do you want running your retirement portfolio - the US government, or the folks that ran Enron, World Comm, etc?

10. Some of these states allow garnishment of wages for debts.
Most blue states allow it only for child support, taxes and student loans.

Tennessee is one I know about.

That makes the bankruptcy rate soar.

14. It does seem like we should have some national consistency
Doesn't Florida has some kind of exemption where if you dump all your assets into your "home" they can't get at it? (Which explains why OJ moved to Florida...)

11. A corperation is seen as a person in court, but not in rhetoric.
Hence they get the rights of an individual in legal matters, but never seem mired by all that personal responsibility.

Remind me to become fabulously wealthy so that I can re-arrange the law to benefit myself sometime. It looks just dandy.
