it had a direct, immediate effect on the deaths of military and civilian personnel. Emphasis on immediate.

3. I agree, the IWR is worse. |
|
The nation has a chance to rework bankruptcy law. The deaths from IWR are forever, and when you include Iraqi civilians greater in number than deaths from bankruptcy (yes, that is an explicit admission that bankruptcy can preciptate deaths).

5. The bankruptcy bill will affect every working American who... |
|
...have crushing financial debts now and into the future. It will take the heaviest toll on the under 25 and older Americans especially nearing retirement who are saddled with uncontrollable debt from illness, natural disasters, death of a spouse, loss of pension plans, job loss, extreme income down-sizing, IRS audits and numerous other unpredictable financial set-backs that aren't the direct result of financial irresponsibility, extravagant life-style and poor debt management. This bill is so unfair it should be renamed the debtors prison bill. The war resolution bill is a terrible sell-out also and so I think there should be an "all of the above" option. Talk about partisan politics.:puke:

7. The Bankruptcy Bill is winning? |
|
A good number of Democrats gave the neoconservatives license to wage perpetual war on the Middle East.
It doesn't get any worse.

8. I can believe they were mislead |
|
on the war resolution, because I read it, and it did not say that war was a certainty...however, the bankrupcy bill is hurting people who are already down, while saving more profits for the companies that already hold all the money in the world... this in essence costs people twice - your interest rate on charge cards also has fixed into it a percentage to cover non-payment eventuallity, so they will still get that coverage and are now protected from anyone being able to write them off, I haven't heard rather interest and penelties still apply after filing , but if they do, forget it, you'll never get it paid off....they should be forced to lower interest, to not include the non-payment possiblity, since we have no choice now...

9. 98-2 vote on Chertoff... |
|
That one was REALLY disgusting to me. I'm fed up with these wimpy spineless Democrats. Every one of these votes ought to be 55-45. Two years ago I watched the TV debate between the Senate candidates here in Missouri. I voted for the Democratic incumbent Jean Carnahan, but during that debate I was wishing SO bad that I could vote for the Green candidate. He was more like a Democrat than almost any Democratic Party officeholder you ever hear of. He was like a member of the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party. I liked EVERYTHING the man said, while Carnahan sounded just like a Republican-lite Democrat. The next time somebody like that runs for any office, I don't care if there is NO chance that he will win, I'm voting for him anyway. These Democrats are driving their base away with their appeasement and capitulation and surrender to Republicans, I tell you. They're on the verge of losing me now. Any more almost the only reason I vote for the Democrat is just to keep the Republican out of office. But that isn't working anyway because now, even though I live in a state that is almost evenly divided, my president, vice president, governor, congressman and both senators are Republicans. And they're all just as bad as Bush. So if my vote is not succeeding in keeping Republicans out of office ANYWAY, why shouldn't I just go ahead and vote for the candidate I REALLY want to vote for? But I SO wish that candidate would start always being the DEMOCRAT...

11. The resolution was to give the president the authority to act. |
|
The senate gave restrictions the president was suppose to follow and it wasn't a resolution per se to go to war. There were also mixed opinions as to how immenent the threat from Iraq was and whether the administration has additional information as to that threat they was confidential.
In contrast, the bankruptcy bill is blatant catering to corporate credit card companies.
