Ivy League Imperialism and the fix we are in.
IMO, our country took a wrong turn after WWII, when a handful of ivy leaguers, who saw a golden opportunity to replace the British as the Lords of the Known Universe decided that our interests must be paramount in the world and all Untermenschen must be put down either by subversion, bribery, outright wars, economic strangulation and a multitude of methods devised by the OSS ,the forerunner of the CIA. In this enterprise, several notorious names pop up time and again: Allen Dulles, John J.McCloy, Dean Acheson, George Kennan, Averell Harriman,Prescott Bush and others. They were aided and abetted by a variety of news columnists like Walter Lippman, the Alsop Brothers,James Reston who developed the technique that Noam Chomsky has correctly called the Manufacture of Consent.

Because our ideals were constantly at variance with the propositions of endless enemies and endless wars concocted by this Ivy Leaguers, they had to hide their true intent of world wide domination behind a cloak of ideals. With Bush Junior, at long last, a new enemy, Global Terrorism has been created, that makes it possible for our rulers to even drop the pretense of idealism.

Remember, that Bush(Yale & Harvard), Rumsfeld ( Princeton) are also ivy leaguers. So the tradition of the Ivy league as the incubator of imperialists continues.

1. I take offense to that
I go to an Ivy league institution, Cornell And I don't think it's right to pigeonhole people like that.

2. 98% of Fortune 500 CEOs belonged to a Fraternity in college.
There is definitely much cronyism going on in this country.

If you come from the right family, go to the right school, belong to the right religion, join the right fraternity....your climb up the power ladder is viturally assured....even if you are a pompous, no talent jerk.
