KAREN HUGHES is going to "present our message to the world?!?!" |
|
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 07:07 PM by MnFats
Just heard on NPR that Bush/Rice have named the wonderful diplomat Karen Hughes to some sort of world PR position. She will be tasked with bringing the administration's message to the world, with an emphasis on reaching out to Muslims. I feel SSSOOOO reassured by this.
Up is Down. Bad is Good. Ignorance is Strength.....ah, hell, you know the rest.

She's the one who supposedly wrote the "speech" that the Bush twins gave at the convention. She's not even in touch with Americans, and she's gonna try to make us look good to the rest of the world? Okayyyyy.

But unless you have some very carefully pre-screened Muslim audiences, I don't think it will be the cakewalk that Bush's townhall meetings are. Lots of luck.

Anyone else think this rather small circle of re-cycled political aides and PR flacks is telling of an administration unable to find qualified people willing to take the hi-visibility roles and carry this administration's water? Bush's little universe of trusted hacks and yes people make for a rather limited selection of "qualified" people.

16. This was mentioned in an editorial recently |
|
And, like the Democrats, the Bush administration keeps demonstrating that its bench also is not deep.
Two recent White House appointments highlight the thinness: The pool of the Bush loyalty troops is shrinking, and the naming of Michael Chertoff as head of Homeland Security and John Negroponte as director of National Intelligence are examples of the slim catches that remain. ---snip--- That he is now George W. Bush's chief briefer on intelligence matters closes the circle: It is as if the family is only talking to itself. Given the limited personnel that President Bush deals with -- people with extensive dealings with the entire Bush family -- there is something of a crime syndicate atmosphere about the entire enterprise. When there are so few to be trusted, what are they being trusted with?

I ever heard her deliver. Just after election 2000, it was Karen's sweet voice I heard on the radio, earnestly explaining that of course Palm Beach County was a Buchanan stronghold.
Why would anyone think her insincere?
