Propagandacracy -- the USA in 2005

So here we are 2005. Primetime television shows are made without scripts by non-actors. Meanwhile government press conferences are staged by professionals and ARE scripted.

The Resident has embarked on a 60-day shooting schedule for his latest movie called "the Social Security Crisis." It is being filmed in closed halls all over the the country. Throngs of GOP types perform as extras ("atmosphere" as they call it in Hollywood), they portray a cross section of America in fictionalized versions of "Town Hall Meetings."

Word from inside the production is that the star of the show is getting bored and doesn't like the non-macho costumes he has to wear while talking about retirement. The dailies aren't all that great and many of the jokes aren't playing well. Writers may be fired. Karen Hughes has been brought back and is working on the next production -- an action picture to be shot in the middle east.

But as they say "everyone's a critic" and criticism takes many forms. Consider what the Polish did:

During the Solidarity movement in Poland, people expressed their disapproval of the government-run news media by taking a walk with their hats on backward at exactly 6 p.m. when the state news program started. When the government noticed the trend, it issued curfews, but people then put their televisions in their windows facing outward so that only the police walking the streets would see the broadcasts.

1. We could learn a lot from Poland's Solidarity movement

3. Amerikans could learn a lot from ANY Free People or those seeking freedom

The Imperial Amerikan Personality (collectively, not individually speaking) is apathetic obedience.

But I think Amerikans we are beyond "learning" anything except the brutal experience as the bushevik Plan for Amerika gets closer to it's Penultimate Stage.

2. It is a wonderful image

Tricky to implement in the United States, however. For one thing it seems more likely that the Bush Administration would get more out of spinning it as "wacky liberals" than in trying to clamp down on it.
