Britain's Diana met death after first car failed to start: new documents
----------------------
Tue Mar 15, 2:40 PM ET
----------------------

LONDON (AFP) - Britain's Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997, met her death in a different vehicle to the one she had intended to use after it failed to start, documents released revealed.

(snip)

But two other documents -- including a memo to Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) on August 31, the day of Diana's death -- allege that the car in which they were supposed to leave Paris's Ritz Hotel failed to start.

"They tried to leave quickly but the first hire car failed to start," the document, whose author is not revealed, said, noting that the pair had received much media attention since their arrival at the hotel the previous day.

"The second car then left the hotel at speed. It travelled along a stretch of the river and entered the tunnel in which the car crashed."

1. Now that is curious.
You would think the cars they use would be better maintained. My car has 125,000 miles on it and it ALWAYS starts.

17. Automatic
She's sitting out there this morning, parked next to the arroyo, covered with about 2 feet or more of snow. But I better get out there and dig her out this morning, because there are places to go and things to do....

5. I was wondering that, myself.
After all, the accident wasn't caused by any failure of the car's mechanism, it was the (drunken) nut at the wheel.

Edited on Tue Mar-15-05 07:48 PM by NNN0LHI
So they had to bring out some more dead Diana crap. I swear the real media whores live in Windsor castle. Jeez. Just let the woman be dead, buried, and in peace for Christs sake. She is dead, and she ain't coming back for no encore.
